Description
At Shodair Children’s Hospital, we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospitalist Primary Therapist to join our multidisciplinary inpatient care team. In this vital role, you will provide therapeutic services to children and families facing serious emotional and behavioral challenges. You'll be part of a team that truly makes a difference—every single day.
What You’ll Do:
Deliver individual, family, and group therapy
Complete assessments, behavior plans, treatment, and discharge planning
Collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure integrated care
Lead discharge safety planning and psychoeducation
Serve as a key advocate for the patient and family
Participate in daily rounds and treatment planning meetings
Support families in understanding diagnoses and navigating care systems
Ideal Characteristics Clinical Expertise : Strong knowledge of child/adolescent psychiatric disorders, skilled in individual, group, and family therapy, and experienced in crisis and safety planning. Effective Communicator : Empathetic, clear, and confident with patients, families, and care teams. Collaborative : Works well in multidisciplinary teams and values integrated care. Emotionally Resilient : Maintains boundaries, manages stress professionally, and practices self-care. Organized : Timely with documentation, handles caseloads efficiently, and follows clinical protocols. Ethical & Trauma-Informed : Acts with integrity, applies trauma-informed care, and advocates for patients.
