If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.</p><p>Ansible is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing Federal customers with solutions in many arenas. Our customers face wide-ranging challenges in the fields of health care, national security, and information technology. To address these challenges, we employ intelligent and committed staff who take care of our customers’ success as if it is their own.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Filling pre-exchange and missing dose orders with the medication and delivery of the medication.</li><li>Filling unit-dose carts as scheduled from the pick list and updated pick list reports including the operation of the unit-dose packaging equipment.</li><li>Exchanging unit-dose carts as scheduled.</li><li>Adjusting unit-dose drawers to reflect patient admissions, discharges, and transfers and<br>clarifying patient locations, status, etc. with nursing and medical administration staff.</li><li>Answering telephone calls and other tasks as assigned.</li><li>Preparing IV admixtures (piggybacks, large volume parenterals and chemotherapy) utilizing<br>aseptic techniques in a timely manner for final check by a Clinical Pharmacist.</li><li>Maintaining pre-determined stock levels.</li><li>Utilizing the VistA computer system to maintain records and produce reports.</li><li>Working closely with the Lead Technician or Supervisor to respond to changing use patterns and resolve problems.</li><li>Utilizing autogenerated reports to replenish the inpatient automated dispensing cabinets<br>(Omnicell) with sufficient quantities of medication and supplies.</li><li>Replenishing medications and supplies for inpatient units according to “on demand” orders requested by nursing staff.</li><li>Conducting at least monthly inspections of all patient care units and other areas/departments of the medical center and outpatient clinic areas where medications are stored, administered, or<br>dispensed.</li><li>Maintaining proper records of medications and supplies issued to provide data for reports as needed.</li><li>Utilizing the unit dose packaging equipment to prepare “unit doses” for dispensing through the Inpatient Pharmacy section.</li><li>Preparing labels for repackaged medications including bar codes and specialized labeling, e.g.,<br>half-tablet doses, oral liquid syringes, etc., in accordance with applicable laws, requirements of official packaging and established standards of good professional practice.</li><li>Performing routinely scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning of the equipment.</li><li>Recording all pertinent information for each medication canister packaged.</li><li>Examining prescriptions and refill requests against computer medication profiles for<br>administrative irregularities (i.e. missing directions, missing VA provider identification, nonformulary medication, etc.) and makes appropriate referrals to a pharmacist. Exercise good judgment regarding referral of problems requiring the professional judgment of a Clinical Pharmacist.</li><li>Entering refill requests into the computer database accurately and efficiently.</li><li>Removing prescription labels and related documents from computer printers and correlates<br>them by patient. Selects the correct medications and counts the correct quantity when filling manually or using automated equipment when appropriate. Accurately and carefully applies labels to the prepared containers and places the completed orders in trays or bags for the final check by a Clinical Pharmacist.</li><li>Verifying the identification of the patient prior to releasing the medications to the patient at pickup window.</li><li>Preparing packages of completed prescriptions that are designated to be mailed and<br>transporting them to the appropriate area for pick-up.</li><li>Operating the ScriptPro system in the filling of prescriptions and provides preventative<br>maintenance and cleaning of the ScriptPro filling system.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>US Citizen</li><li>Certified by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)</li><li>Must have at least one-year experience in hospital pharmacy setting (Inpatient or Outpatient)</li><li>Must be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program</li><li>Must be able to understand how to perform basic mathematical calculations</li><li>Have basic typing and PC computer skills</li><li>Have a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate</li><li>Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently</li><li>No sponsorship available </li></ul><p><strong>All candidates must be able to:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift</li>\n\t<li>Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist</li>\n\t<li>Lift up to 20 lbs</li>\n\t<li>Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance</li>\n\t<li>Push/pull with 30 lbs of force</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. </strong></p>",
