Description Description of Job Duty: This position will support the new Master of Social Work (MSW) program and will have responsibilities in teaching and direct clinical service. The successful candidate will also collaborate with the university’s Center for Addiction Prevention and Support (CAPS), particularly through clinical service and student training in the university’s free outpatient mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) clinic. In addition to providing outpatient therapy, they must have interest in mental health, addictions, and substance misuse and the ability to teach MSW foundation courses, courses within the clinical track, and at least one of the following courses: Rural Social Work, School Social Work, Medical Social Work, Forensic Social Work, and Social Work with Children and Youth. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Teach graduate-level courses in the MSW program and undergraduate social work-related courses in the Social Work Concentration of the Sociology major. For 2026-2027, focus will be on teaching undergraduate social work courses. Once the MSW program launches in Fall 2027, the majority of teaching will shift to graduate coursework in the MSW Provide direct care and therapeutic services to clients through the CAPS outpatient mental health and substance use disorder ( SUD ) clinic Participate in curriculum development and ongoing accreditation preparation aligned with CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards ( EPAS ) Engage in departmental service and contribute to strategic goals of the MSW program and the Department of Sociology and Political Science Collaborate with university and community stakeholders in designing and implementing the MSW curriculum Collaborate with CAPS clinical supervisors in supporting MSW students during field placements and clinic-based practicum Engage in departmental service, curriculum development, and student mentorship as needed Physical Demands: Those typical of an office/classroom environment.
