Description

Your role: As a Junior QA Tester at Aesir Interactive, you will support the quality of our games throughout development and help us deliver stable, polished, and memorable player experiences. This is a hands-on entry point into professional game development, where your attention to detail, curiosity, communication skills, and player mindset directly contribute to the final quality of our games. You will work closely with QA, design, production, art, and development teams, learning how professional game QA fits into the full development lifecycle. From testing new features and checking daily builds to reporting bugs, verifying fixes, and sharing structured feedback, you will gain insight into how games are built, improved, and prepared for release. This is an on-site role at our Munich studio. The kind of stuff you`ll be doing: Test game features, content, builds, and systems across PC, console, and supported devices. Execute black box, functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory tests based on provided test plans and priorities. Support daily smoke tests and regular build checks in the game engine and on target platforms. Find, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, screenshots, videos, and relevant build information. Verify bug fixes and help ensure that issues do not reappear in later builds. Work with Jira or similar bug tracking tools to document, update, and follow up on issues. Help maintain test cases, checklists, and QA documentation. Provide structured feedback on gameplay, usability, balancing, stability, and overall player experience. Communicate test results clearly, share findings with confidence, and escalate blockers, risks, or recurring issues early. Collaborate with developers, designers, producers, and other QA team members to better understand features and improve game quality. Gain hands-on experience with professional QA workflows, development builds, platform testing, and production milestones. Learn and apply QA best practices, testing methods, and platform-specific requirements. Stay curious about games, player experience, and the evolving video game market. Who are we looking for: A genuine passion for games and a deep interest in how they are made, you want to be part of building them, not just playing them. You do not need to have shipped multiple games already; what matters most is your curiosity, reliability, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn professional QA. First experience in QA, game testing, software testing, modding, game jams, community testing, bug reporting, or personal game projects is a plus. Basic understanding of QA methods such as functional testing, regression testing, smoke testing, exploratory testing, and bug reporting is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies, errors, edge cases, and player-facing issues. Comfortable following test plans, checklists, and structured testing processes. Able to describe problems clearly, logically, and objectively. Good communicator who is comfortable sharing results, raising concerns, and keeping the team informed. Familiarity with Jira or other bug tracking tools is a plus. Basic knowledge of PC and console setups is beneficial. Good analytical mindset and willingness to investigate issues beyond the surface level. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Reliable, organized, and eager to learn from more experienced QA team members. Willingness to work on-site at our Munich studio. You are: You are excited by the idea that your feedback can have a visible impact on the quality, stability, and feel of a game. You take ownership of your assigned tasks and approach your work with care and consistency. You communicate openly, share your results with confidence, and are not afraid to raise a flag when something needs attention. You are open to feedback and embrace new challenges as opportunities to grow and improve your craft. What we offer: A hands-on entry point into professional game QA and game development. The chance to contribute to real PC and console game projects in a professional studio environment. On-site collaboration with experienced QA testers, developers, designers, artists, and producers. A supportive team that helps you grow your testing skills, technical understanding, and game development knowledge. A focused, casual, and collaborative studio atmosphere in Munich. A 38-hour workweek supporting a healthy work-life balance. Free drinks, coffee, tea, and a weekly fresh organic fruit basket. Table tennis and table soccer for energizing breaks. Team activities, knowledge-sharing events, and studio celebrations. Public transport ticket coverage. Monthly credit card top-up and lunch subsidy after probation.
