Job Description Amazing Career Moments Happen Here Transforming the insurance industry is ambitious, we know. That’s why at Applied, we’re building a team that shows up every day ready to learn, willing to try new things, and driven to deliver innovative software and services that make us indispensable to our customers – all within a culture built on values that make us indispensable to each other too. With 40+ years of experience in the Insurtech game, we’re not just redefining what’s achievable; we’re creating a place where amazing career moments are made possible. Position Overview We’re searching for a Quality Engineer to join our Solution Services team in remote work environment. To keep us headed in the right direction, we’re looking for people who understand winning is a team sport, who value and seek to learn from our team’s diverse experiences and backgrounds, who welcome a challenge and take risks in the pursuit of creating better outcomes for our customers, and who can, at any given time, step back to laugh and have some fun. What You’ll Do Execute defined QA/QC activities for custom solutions, integrations, and enhancements using established tools, frameworks, and processes. Develop, maintain, and execute test cases and test plans for functional, integration, regression, and user-acceptance testing, following standard QA procedures. Validate solutions against clearly defined business requirements, acceptance criteria, and documented workflows in collaboration with cross-functional partners. Identify, document, and track defects clearly and accurately; support root-cause analysis and retesting under guidance from more experienced engineers. Analyze straightforward quality issues and propose solutions using established testing practices and prior examples. Collaborate with internal teams and client-facing partners to resolve quality issues, support delivery timelines, and ensure shared understanding of outcomes. Contribute to initial test reports, defect summaries, and quality-related documentation for review by senior team members. Participate in solution delivery activities across the lifecycle (requirements, testing, deployment, and post-release support) with moderate direction and oversight. Build knowledge of Applied Systems products, Solution Services delivery models, internal processes, and customer use cases. Follow and reinforce QA standards, documentation practices, and compliance requirements while continuously developing technical and domain expertise. We’re Excited to Learn More About You Your experience may include: 4–7 years of experience in software quality assurance, testing, or quality engineering in a product development or professional services environment. Working knowledge of software testing methodologies, test case design, and defect tracking. Hands-on experience testing applications built with modern development technologies (e.g., VB.NET, C#, React, REST APIs, SQL/databases). Experience collaborating with developers, business partners, and non-technical stakeholders to deliver quality outcomes. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). You may have other skills or credentials, including: Experience with insurance software, agency management systems, or insurtech platforms. Exposure to custom integrations, APIs, or third-party SDKs. We know that talent comes from all backgrounds and experience levels. We encourage military members and their spouses as well as candidates without a degree or a background in tech to apply!
