We are Hiring! Job Posting: ASSISTANT RESIDENTIAL MANAGER Location: Rochester, NY Department: Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Employment Type: Full-Time Schedule: evenings and weekends Salary: $23/hr General Description Under general supervision, assists the Residence Manager with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the house and provides intake and case management services to individuals in the residence. Assures the maintenance of a healthy, safe and therapeutic environment within the program. Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff, and is responsible for ensuring a trauma informed care environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follows protocols that will result in a safe and well-maintained environment. Initiates request for general maintenance issues and tracks completion. Reports problems or concerns to the Residence Manager or the VP of Housing Services. Participates in cross-departmental collaboration to develop and maintain best practices in residential care. Monitors prescription/medication system to ensure compliance as identified in Agency policy/procedures and NYS Health Department. Receives medication from clients on admission and establish a medical log for each client. Ensures 100% accuracy of medication monitoring and compliance with Agency protocols. Ensures safe disposal and discharge of medication upon client discharge. Assists the Residence Manager with the purchase and preparation of food. Plans, purchases necessary food and monitors implementation of meals with the guidance of a licensed nutritionist. Manages food/supply inventories and stocks food supplies. Responsible for coordinating or preparing 3 meals per day, 7 days per week. Follows Department of Health regulations for food preparation and storage. Maintains required documentation for the residence. Assists with the billing each month. Submits all bills, invoices or receipts generated for the residence to the Administrative Assistant for signature. Maintains and balances petty cash. Assists the Residence Manager with the management of residence staff. Provides direction and coaching for staff when necessary. Assists with the preparation of the work schedule. Acts as the “on call” supervisor during specified times. Maintains a caseload of clients and maintains their case files in accordance with Agency, departmental, regulator and funder guidelines. Assesses new program referrals and completes relevant screenings. Creates, implements and monitors comprehensive care plans and goals. Assists in obtaining support for clients to include health insurance, DSS, CPS and housing needs. Transports clients to relevant appointments, activities and meetings to include DHS and apartment viewings. Assists in discharge planning to assure a safe transition. Collaborates with referring agencies, funders and all related internal staff to effectively support individual client needs. Complete letters of requests/referral forms, and other required documents of eligibility or charitable organizations and public agencies to advocate for resources that the client is entitled to or eligible for. Knowledgeable about community housing resources and able to link clients to these opportunities and services. Participates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings Actively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training and attendance at conferences and workshops. Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values and Strategic Plan.
