This role drives market‑based profitability through effective leadership of all fleet and maintenance activities within the assigned area, with a strong focus on </span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-weight: normal;\">cost control</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\">,&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-weight: normal;\">asset utilization, safety, and team development</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\">.</span></span></p><p style=\"line-height: 15pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\">The Fleet Manager oversees a maintenance operation that runs </span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-weight: normal;\">two shifts</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\"> and directly leads a staff of </span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-weight: normal;\">9 Technicians</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\">,&nbsp;</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-weight: normal;\">1 Operations Specialist</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\">, and </span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt; font-weight: normal;\">1 Shift Supervisor</span><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\">. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance programs, regulatory and safety compliance, technician training, workforce planning, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role ensures high training standards, promotes a strong safety culture, and develops team members to meet both operational demands and business objectives.</span></span></p><p style=\"line-height: 15pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Segoe UI&quot;, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: 10.5pt;\">This position plays a critical role in supporting business operations by minimizing downtime, managing maintenance budgets, maintaining equipment readiness, and aligning fleet strategies with local market needs.</span></span><br><br><strong><u>What You'll be Doing</u></strong><br>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements. Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met.</li><li>Manages maintenance managers to ensure performance and cost focus across the area.</li><li>Reviews capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives.</li><li>Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets.</li><li>Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained.</li><li>Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized.</li><li>Complies with and ensures adherence to WM’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.</li><li>Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.</li><li>Assists in budget process as required.</li><li>Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.</li><li>Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the maintenance shops through regular inspections and preventive maintenance programs.</li><li>Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, and training staff and maintenance managers, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions.</li><li>Motivates, coaches, counsels and disciplines managers according to WM’s policies and procedures and ensures that maintenance managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps.</li><li>Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.</li></ul><p><br><strong><u>What does it take to be a Fleet Maintenance Manager with WM?</u></strong><br><br>A.
