IR&DS plays a critical role in guiding university leadership through data-driven insights. The Assessment and Evaluation team partners with stakeholders across campus—including faculty, administrators, and senior leadership—to design and execute research that informs high-impact decisions tied to Stanford’s academic mission.  </p>\n<p><strong>About this role:</strong> </p>\n<p>This is a newly created position designed to expand the team’s capacity at a critical moment. You’ll join a two-person special projects team focused on delivering high-priority institutional surveys and analyses tied to sensitive and high-visibility policy decisions. </p>\n<p>Working alongside a Senior Assessment and Evaluation Analyst, you’ll play a key role in helping university leadership navigate complex questions using data. This is an opportunity to directly influence decision-making at one of the most respected universities in the world—while building deep expertise in survey research, institutional analytics, and mixed-methods evaluation.  This is a hybrid position and a fixed-term role (3 years) with no plans for conversion to a full-time ongoing position. </p>\n<p><strong>Your Contribution Will Likely Include:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design and execute survey research methodologies to answer complex institutional questions  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead data collection efforts, including survey development, administration, and integration with existing data sources  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to uncover insights and inform decision-making  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Explore data from multiple perspectives, identifying patterns, implications, and actionable recommendations  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Translate findings into compelling narratives through reports, presentations, and data visualizations  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Present insights to faculty, senior leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders in a clear and impactful way  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Collaborate across departments to gather data, benchmarks, and comparative insights  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Support project management efforts to ensure timely delivery of high-priority research initiatives  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Contribute to research compliance efforts, ensuring data collection involving students aligns with federal and university policies  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Partner closely with the Senior Analyst on both routine and complex analytical projects  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience You Will Bring:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 4 years of experience in quantitative analysis, or a combination of education and experience  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong foundation in survey research, data analysis, and empirical research methods  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience working with large, complex datasets and applying statistical techniques  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency with tools such as R, STATA, SPSS, or similar statistical software  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, R) and the ability to communicate insights clearly  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to non-technical audiences  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Advanced degree in social sciences, education, statistics, or a related field  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with survey design and qualitative or mixed-methods research  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with qualitative data analysis tools and approaches  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience using AI tools to enhance data analysis, reporting, or workflow efficiency </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Familiarity with strategic planning concepts and institutional research environments  </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation & Benefits:</strong> </p>\n<p>The expected pay range for this position is $131,105 – $150,622 per annum. </p>\n<p>Stanford offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance.
