This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both field and laboratory testing, while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians who will support your development.</p><p>You will be based out of our Calgary, AB office and work on projects across the surrounding area.</p></div><p style=\"line-height: normal;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: normal;\"><strong>What a day at EXP has in store for yo</strong>u</p><p style=\"line-height: normal;\"><br>As a Junior Materials Technician, you will build practical skills by supporting construction and materials testing activities, including:</p><div style=\"font-family: &quot;Segoe UI&quot;; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; line-height: 20px;\"><ul><li>Perform field testing on construction materials such as:<ul><li>Concrete (slump, air content, casting cylinders)</li><li>Soil (in-place density testing using nuclear densometer)</li></ul></li><li>Assist with asphalt and concrete coring and sampling</li><li>Collect soil, asphalt, and aggregate samples from project sites</li><li>Support laboratory testing, such as:<ul><li>Concrete compressive strength testing</li><li>Grain size analysis</li><li>Proctor compaction tests</li><li>Basic geotechnical and asphalt testing</li></ul></li><li>Conduct site visits to observe construction and support quality control reviews</li><li>Work with engineers and project teams to help identify and resolve site-related issues</li><li>Communicate with contractors and clients in a professional and responsive manner</li><li>Participate in team meetings and ongoing training opportunities</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: normal;\"><strong>What your experience looks like</strong></p><div style=\"font-family: &quot;Segoe UI&quot;; font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400; line-height: 20px;\"><ul><li>Recent graduate (or nearing completion) of a Civil Engineering Technology diploma or related program</li><li>Basic knowledge or exposure to materials testing (concrete, soil, asphalt) is an asset</li><li>Strong interest in working outdoors and on construction sites</li><li>Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively</li><li>Valid Canadian driver’s license (required for site visits)</li><li>Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)</li></ul></div><p style=\"line-height: normal;\"><br>&nbsp;</p></div><div><br>&nbsp;</div><div><div><p><span class=\"x2kd x1a\"><strong>EXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
