Our mission is to serve, to lead, and to teach within a foundation of social justice, preparing students to be compassionate professionals and transformative leaders.</p>\n<h1>Position Description</h1>\n<p>The Department of Foundational Biomedical Sciences at Touro University California College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position. (Assistant or Associate Professor) in Pathology/Pathophysiology. We seek an accomplished medical educator with a demonstrated ability to teach and integrate concepts of disease mechanisms, pathology, and pathophysiology into a pre-clinical medical curriculum.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This faculty member will contribute to the delivery of our <strong>integrated, systems-based curriculum</strong> for osteopathic medical students (COM) and postbaccalaureate students in the Master of Science in Medical Health Sciences (MSMHS) program. Specific responsibilities include:</p>\n<h2>Teaching</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Teaching pathology- and pathophysiology-related content across organ systems in an integrated, case-based curriculum.</li>\n <li>Collaborating with basic science and clinical faculty to ensure alignment of foundational concepts with clinical application.</li>\n <li>Developing and delivering interactive, evidence-based instructional materials that promote active learning.</li>\n <li>Participating in curriculum development, assessment, and continuous quality improvement.</li>\n <li>Engaging in scholarly activity and contributing to departmental and university service.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Research/Scholarly Activity</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain scholarly activity through educational research, biomedical research, and dissemination of scholarship through publication in peer-reviewed journals and other formats.</li>\n <li>Collaborate on research initiatives and pursue intramural or extramural funding, as applicable.</li>\n <li>Interest in medical education scholarship or contribute to interdisciplinary research, especially in areas of microbiology or pathophysiology.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Service</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.</li>\n <li>Participate in faculty development, student recruitment, admissions interviews, and other institutional service.</li>\n <li>Contribute to educational innovations, student engagement, and community outreach aligned with the TUC mission.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h1>Minimum Qualifications</h1>\n<ul>\n <li>Have a doctoral degree (MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent) with advanced training or significant teaching experience in pathology, pathophysiology, or related biomedical sciences.</li>\n <li>Are committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment and mentoring diverse learners.</li>\n <li>Value interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation in medical education.</li>\n <li>Evidence of scholarly productivity or potential for scholarly contributions.</li>\n <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team-teaching environment.</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<h1>Preferred Qualifications</h1>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrate excellence in teaching pre-clinical medical students, with the ability to integrate foundational science into clinical reasoning.</li>\n <li>Prior teaching experience in microbiology, or pathology, or related disciplines.</li>\n <li>Ability to lead and develop courses.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with NBOME/COMLEX or USMLE-style exam formats and curricular blueprints.</li>\n <li>Experience using educational technologies (e.g., Canvas, ExamSoft, Lecture recording platforms).</li>\n <li>Interest in implementing and developing active learning methodologies.</li>\n <li>Interest in contributing to educational scholarship or interdisciplinary research</li>\n</ul>\n<h1>Application Instructions</h1>\n<p>Interested applicants should submit the following materials:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>1.
