Description

*This position can be based in any of our US offices* Lead the Future of Multimodal Corridor Design! We are seeking a visionary National BRT & Complete Streets Design Leader to guide the delivery of high-impact multimodal corridor programs across the country. In this role, you will shape national design standards, mentor emerging technical leaders, and drive the successful execution of complex BRT and Complete Streets projects from concept through final design. This position plays a critical role in expanding our national transit and urban mobility capabilities, improving design consistency, and supporting a growing portfolio of corridor design initiatives. *What You Will Do Lead Complex, High-Visibility Corridor Designs Direct the technical delivery of full-corridor Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and multimodal design projects. Lead the design of both center-running and curbside BRT stations, ensuring seamless integration with civil, traffic, ITS, and urban design disciplines. Oversee coordination for transit signal priority and collaborate closely with ITS and signal engineering teams. Deliver corridor designs through final design (PS&E), ensuring high-quality plans, specifications, estimates, and defensible design decisions. *Set National Standards & Drive Technical Excellence Create and maintain standardized design approaches for BRT and Complete Streets programs, including typical sections, standard details, corridor templates, and technical playbooks. Develop and lead QA/QC review processes, applying enterprise-level design review across multiple programs. Produce and defend design exceptions and design deviations for constrained urban corridors, ensuring decisions are well-documented and technically justified. Integrate Complete Streets principles—including bike facilities, pedestrian safety, ADA considerations, and multimodal safety enhancements—into all corridor designs. *Apply Advanced Tools & Digital Delivery Use Civil 3D corridor modeling to create accurate, optimized, and visually compelling design models. Leverage 3D visualization, traffic simulation tools, and data-driven decision support systems to evaluate transit priority scenarios and communicate design impacts. Support and advance digital delivery workflows, helping transition teams toward model-based design methodologies. *Shape Strategy & Strengthen Market Position Serve as the technical lead during proposal interviews, representing the vision and strategy for corridor design excellence. Contribute to Go/No-Go decisions, capture strategies, and proposal technical narratives for major transit and multimodal pursuits. Support scope development and proposal writing for new opportunities in transit and mobility. Build and maintain strong working relationships within the transit and multimodal design community, including public agencies and corridor program partners. *Mentor, Support, and Elevate Future Leaders Mentor emerging Project Technical Leaders and corridor task leads across multiple regions. Strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and help build national capacity in BRT and multimodal corridor design. Provide guidance on design decisions, modeling techniques, technical writing, documentation, and defensible design justification.
