    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We’re looking for an Property Claims Manager, Hamilton Select</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span>Responsible for handling </span>high exposure casualty and/or specialty professional claims along with assisting in the hiring, training, and guidance of future claims adjusters.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">We prefer to base the position in Richmond, VA, but we will consider a remote working location for appropriately qualified candidates.</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will do</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Review claims and related systems and processes</span></li>\n<li><span>Provide coverage, liability, and damages analyses for claims and ensure timely reserving and appropriate legal and indemnity payments. </span></li>\n<li><span>Draft disclaimers and reservation of rights letters</span></li>\n<li><span>Negotiate settlements, mitigate losses, and control expenses</span></li>\n<li><span>Adhere to Claims Best Practices, Key Controls, and file handling requirements</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintain a high level of communication with leadership and underwriting partners</span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure appropriate reports are timely prepared and disseminated</span></li>\n<li><span>Hire, train and develop new claims adjusters</span></li>\n<li><span>Supervise claims files handled by direct reports</span></li>\n<li><span>Review disclaimers and reservation of rights letters drafted by direct reports</span></li>\n<li><span>Develop claims adjusters to maximize their ability to proactively investigate, evaluate, and negotiate claims</span></li>\n<li><span>Lead training and development initiatives within the Team to educate and instruct claims adjusters on trends and emerging issues</span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure successful implementation of key organization-wide initiatives and improvement strategies for claims and our business units</span></li>\n<li><span>Present to management, provide leadership, mentor staff and identify procedural improvements</span></li>\n<li><span>Support other functional groups within the organization</span></li>\n<li><span>Ensure compliance with internal corporate guidelines, processes and procedures</span></li>\n<li><span>Other duties as required by management</span></li>\n<li><span>Some travel, as required for trials &amp; mediations, etc. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you require for the role</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Minimum of seven years’ experience required in casualty claims and/or specialty claims handling or related litigation with a career history of increasing responsibility</span></li>\n<li><span>Experience working claims in the Excess and Surplus Market required</span></li>\n<li><span>Experience working with complex coverage issues required</span></li>\n<li><span>Multi-jurisdictional claims and litigation experience required</span></li>\n<li><span>Adjuster license and or certifications desired but not required </span></li>\n<li><span>Highly advanced knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures, claim systems, regulation, coverage, liability, damage evaluation, and/or settlement with exposures in excess of $1M</span></li>\n<li><span>Excellent at establishing close working relationships with other departments, including underwriting, operations, finance, IT, actuarial and legal</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong negotiating, analytical, written, and organizational skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Mediation and arbitration experience </span></li>\n<li><span>Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and in-house claims systems)</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Conduct Standards</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li>You must act with integrity</li>\n<li>You must act with due skill, care and diligence</li>\n<li>You must be open and cooperative with the FCA, the PRA and other regulators</li>\n<li>You must pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly</li>\n<li>You must observe proper standards of market conduct</li>\n<li>You must act to deliver good outcomes for retail customers</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you can expect from us</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>At Hamilton, we offer a vibrant, entrepreneurial and collaborative workplace shaped by our values: Be Smart, Be Sensible, Be Open and Be More.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Our employees consistently say they would recommend Hamilton as a great place to work — a testament to the inclusive, supportive, and empowering culture we’ve built together.
