Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.
The Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Alberta invites letters of interest for an 8-month (Fall 2026 and Winter 2027)) full-time term position (T8 Lecturer, any rank) to commence on September 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities for these positions include the teaching of 6 courses over an 8-month period: 3 courses in the fall and 3 courses in the winter. WGS is seeking a Lecturer who can teach WGS 101, 220, 230, and 301. The successful applicant will be expected to teach all courses except WGS 101 in person in Edmonton, at the University of Alberta main campus. WGS 101 is taught asynchronously and online using the Canvas LMS. Specific assignment of two additional courses will be determined in consultation with the Department Chair. Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Women’s and Gender Studies or a related field at or near completion is required for this position. Experience teaching in the field of Women’s and Gender Studies is an asset.
