    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CONTROLLER </span></p>\n<p>Lead the financial backbone of a high-end custom fabrication shop, with a clear path to Director of Finance and CFO.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>McKenzie Craft is a luxury custom fabrication firm in Miami producing architectural millwork and casework for hospitality, retail, and luxury residential clients. Recent projects include Viceroy, Waldorf Astoria, Ritz Carlton, Casamar, Pier Sixty-Six, and SLS. We operate out of a 25,000 sq ft converted 1938 warehouse in Miami, Fl.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We are hiring a Controller to own financial reporting, cash flow, job costing, and internal controls while mentoring the finance team and supporting strategic decisions. This is a hands-on, operationally embedded role for someone ready to take the next step. </p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you will do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare GAAP financial statements and lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes</li>\n<li>Manage cash flow, rolling forecasts, working capital, AR, AP, retainage, and billing cycles</li>\n<li>Monitor job costing, gain/fade, and project profitability across labor, materials, freight, subs, and overhead</li>\n<li>Partner with the CEO and outside CPA on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning</li>\n<li>Conduct variance analysis and build financial dashboards and KPI tracking systems</li>\n<li>Oversee sales tax, payroll tax, audits, banking relationships, lender reporting, and insurance renewals</li>\n<li>Maintain internal controls, approval workflows, segregation of duties, and audit-ready documentation</li>\n<li>Lead and develop the finance team, oversee payroll, and own the integrity of accounting systems</li>\n<li>Drive automation, process improvement, and reporting standardization</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you bring</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required. CPA preferred</li>\n<li>Minimum 7 to 10 years of accounting or financial management experience</li>\n<li>Manufacturing industry experience required. Millwork, construction, or subcontractor trade a strong plus</li>\n<li>Minimum 3 to 5 years of leadership experience preferred</li>\n<li>Strong QuickBooks experience required</li>\n<li>Prior ERP system experience required</li>\n<li>Deep knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and job costing methodologies</li>\n<li>Strong command of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and internal controls</li>\n<li>Hands-on and operationally involved. Comfortable on the shop floor, not just behind a desk</li>\n<li>Curious and inquisitive. Asks questions, digs into the numbers, understands the work behind them</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Requirements</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prolonged periods at a desk and on a computer</li>\n<li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times</li>\n<li>Must wear appropriate PPE when visiting job sites (steel-toed boots, eyewear, hard hats)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Metrics </span></p>\n<p>Reporting accuracy, budget performance, working capital optimization, job costing accuracy, process efficiency, compliance and controls, and team development.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Salaried, exempt. 100% in office, no remote or hybrid.
