    "description": "<p>We are seeking an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HVAC</span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Controls Technician (Building Automation Technician)</span> to join our Federal Systems team based at one of the most iconic buildings in the world – the <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Pentagon</span> (military experience is not required). We’ve supported the Pentagon for nearly 20 years with their energy efficiency and sustainability needs</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>At Johnson Controls, we support our nation’s most critical facilities, the people who occupy them, and the missions they enable. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure. <br><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Pay range: </span>$43.00 - $58.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience. <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Company Vehicle:</span> Yes<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Shift: </span>Day shift, primarily 6:30am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benefits:</span> Eligible for <a href=\"https://www.johnsoncontrols.com/careers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">benefits</a> on first day of employment<br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vacation:</span> 3 weeks of paid vacation per calendar year</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As a <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Controls Technician</span>, you will:<br><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, troubleshooting and/or replacement of HVAC controls systems (BAS systems) and related mechanical equipment; most work will involve Johnson Controls Metasys and Distech controls</li>\n<li>Diagnose and repair a variety of electronic and digital control system malfunctions</li>\n<li>Test and perform modifications to systems software when needed</li>\n<li>Assist with sketching and documenting field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings</li>\n<li>Provide training and associated manuals and documentation to customers on electronic control systems operations</li>\n<li>Help mechanical staff troubleshoot issues and may help with minor mechanical maintenance</li>\n<li>Ensure work performed complies with company, federal regulations, industry standards and guidelines, and customer requirements</li>\n<li>Compile project documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch lists</li>\n<li>Conduct self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in company's product lines; completes certifications as required</li>\n<li>Read and properly interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals</li>\n<li>Adhere to Johnson Controls and customer safety standards, provide safety awareness leadership and instruction to technicians and subcontractors on Johnson Controls work sites</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications:<br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>5+ years of experience working with HVAC Controls (Direct Digital Controls), VAV's, VRF's, or other related systems and equipment</li>\n<li>Knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems, HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques</li>\n<li>The ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and/or badges as required to perform site duties. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Experience:<br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical knowledge and experience working with Johnson Controls Metasys, Tridium Niagara, or Distech Direct Digital Control (DDC) system</li>\n<li>Programming and/or troubleshooting various brands of HVAC controls products is highly desired (Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Delta, Distech, Carrier, ALC, Andover) </li>\n<li>Experience with BAS communication protocols including at least one of the following: BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, and/or LON</li>\n<li>Experience using SMP, SCT, and/or CCT</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Education:<br><br></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Technical Schooling, Bachelor’s Degree, or Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical systems, Computer technology, HVAC, or a related field, or relevant experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are</span></p>\n<p>At Johnson Controls (NYSE:JCI), we are One Team working collaboratively to create purposeful solutions that make a difference in the world.
