POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant works with the Physician and other members of the primary or specialty care team by performing a variety of clinical and administrative patient-related duties. The Medical Assistant also works to fulfill a variety of patient needs and ensures smooth patient flow within the department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Greets patients on the phone and in person Places patients in the exam rooms Takes vital signs and perform ancillary tests appropriate to skill level Assists and sets up for providers during examination, treatment, and procedures Keeps accurate patient files Applies dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by provider Ensures rooms are stocked with necessary supplies Maintains a sanitized and safe working environment Maintains HIPAA Coordination of services between multiple practices demonstrable by excellent communication skills Performs other medical assistant duties as necessary
