    "description": "<p>Northland Fleet Services is a long-term member of LaPrairie Group of Companies. For over 35 years, LaPrairie Group of Companies has provided the mining and resource industries in Tumbler Ridge and surrounding area with a variety of services - cranes, trucking, mining, heavy equipment and light vehicle repairs and maintenance.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We are looking to hire a full-time Certified Automotive Mechanic, to join our growing team in Tumbler Ridge, B.C.</p>\n<p>Rotational opportunities with provided accommodations are available for qualified candidates not residing in Tumbler Ridge.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>As a Certified Automotive Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting equipment, carrying out services, conducting repairs, and providing routine maintenance to a diversified fleet.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain service operations by inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various pieces of equipment, including gas, diesel, light and heavy-duty units.</li>\n<li>Complete maintenance and repairs as required.</li>\n<li>Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles.</li>\n<li>Test, measure, and verify gas component operations.</li>\n<li>Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting tests as required, including test drives, adjusting controls and systems, pressure tests.</li>\n<li>Operate / diagnose engines powered by diesel or gasoline.</li>\n<li>Adhere to company policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Remain current with federal, provincial, and local codes and regulations and perform duties in compliance with the Occupational Health &amp; Safety Act/Code.</li>\n<li>Ensure that required tools, parts and supplies are available for each job performed.</li>\n<li>Complete required service and equipment performance reports as required.</li>\n<li>Other duties shall be assigned as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"> Desired skills and Experience:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trade Certification/Red Seal as an Automotive Mechanic.</li>\n<li>Ford certified experience is preferred.<br>At least 3 years of experience as an Automotive Mechanic.</li>\n<li>Must have a Class 5 driver’s license at minimum – Class 3 preferred – and a CVIP license.</li>\n<li>Strong understanding of computer testing and diagnostic technologies.</li>\n<li>Ability to lift heavy machinery.</li>\n<li>Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic &amp; electrical systems, and construction equipment.</li>\n<li>Welding and cutting abilities.</li>\n<li>Ability to work after-hours if required.</li>\n<li>Good communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We encourage all who are qualified and interested to apply in confidence; however, only those in consideration will be contacted.</p>\n<p>#ZR</p>\n<p><br></p>",
