Overview
Job Summary QA technicians are responsible for ensuring product safety, quality, and compliance on the harvest, fabrication, and grind floor through monitoring, auditing, and documenting any conformities and nonconformities.
Key Responsibilities
Job requires rotation of tasks (animal welfare, sampling, quality inspections, chemical concentration checks, sanitary dressing audits, temperatures, box tare weights, sampling, and grade changes).
Monitor the implementation and compliance of all food safety and quality procedures on the floor, report deficiencies, take corrective action, and follow up.
Review and accurately complete required paperwork (GMP checks, SSOP corrective action log, and SOP corrective action log) and be held accountable for accuracy.
Conduct pre-op/condensation/swabs.
Perform sanitary dressing and zero tolerance inspections in accordance with the written program.
Aid production in ensuring proper product is retained for USDA dispositions.
Perform finished product inspections to ensure conformance to specifications and collect samples to be sent to lab for analysis.
Conduct animal welfare audits and immediately act on any deviations from robust humane handling program.
Use production specification reports to gather, measure, analyze, and record inspection data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, and quantities inspected or graded.
Interact with USDA as needed.
Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, investigate, and take corrective action, make recommendations on preventative measures, and document findings.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
High school diploma or GED.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English (speak, read, and write).
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (speak, read, and write).
Strong project and time management, and conflict resolution skills.
Prior production experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility.
Work history in the last 12 months.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to monitor and take action to enforce for all food safety, SQF rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Sanitization Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs),
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), pre-requisite programs, policies, and procedures.
Ability to attend work consistently.
Ability to work safely, wear PPE, and follow safety rules.
Display a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Be adaptable and dependable with the ability to follow direction and work in cooperation with others.
Be attentive to detail.
Maintain a clean work area.
Follow all food safety and SQF rules.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be assertive and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform consistent, accurate work with minimal direction and work successfully as part of a team.
Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
