Description
About Us:
Structure Therapeutics develops life‐changing medicines for patients using advanced structure‐based and computational drug discovery technology. The company’s platform combines the latest advancements in visualization of molecular interactions, computational chemistry, and data integration to design orally available, superior small molecule medicines that overcome current limitations of biologic and peptide drugs. We are advancing a clinical‐stage pipeline of differentiated treatments focused on chronic diseases with high unmet need, including cardiovascular, metabolic, and pulmonary conditions.
Structure Therapeutics is led by an experienced group of international drug innovators and financed by top-tier global life sciences investors. The company completed an initial public offering (IPO) in February 2023. With offices in California and Shanghai, Structure Therapeutics has the benefit of being at the center of life science innovation in both the US and China and capitalizing on the strengths of each geographic location.
Position Summary:
This is an exciting and exceptional opportunity to participate in cutting-edge science using unique GPCR structural data whilst making significant contributions to the industry-leading Drug Discovery R&D. The CADD and Data Science team uses state-of-the-art computational techniques and workflows to support and drive discovery projects from early exploratory stage to clinical candidate stage working closely with chemistry, structural biology pharmacology, biology, DMPK, and pre-clinical teams.
Within this interdisciplinary environment, we are looking for an individual with a proven track record of integrating biology and chemistry data from a variety of lab-based environments into a centralised data management platform. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with Drug Discovery Scientists from in vitro and in vivo Biology, Chemistry, DMPK and Informatics departments to streamline data processes that support our internal candidate-drug programs in our drug discovery pipeline. Please apply if you feel passionate about joining our team where scientific excellence and passion combine in a friendly fun environment to impact drug discovery projects and create/customize new cutting-edge approaches.
Job Responsibilities:
Define and implement Discovery/Pre-Clinical Research Data Management strategy aligned with company goals
Establish data standards, ontologies, FAIR principles, and clear data ownership (owner / producer / steward / user)
Design end-to-end data workflows across Chemistry, Biology, DMPK, and CROs
Enable structured data capture at source (templates, metadata, QC) and alignment across SDMS, ELN, and analytics tools
Establish standardized CRO data ingestion workflows, including requirements for completeness, QC, and turnaround tracking, shifting from manual upload to structured delivery
Ensure data quality, consistency, and traceability across workflows
Ensure data is captured in a structured, ML-ready format at source, supporting integration with ADMET prediction, CADD/cheminformatics platforms, and data visualization tools
Partner with scientific teams to translate data needs into practical solutions and drive adoption of standards and workflows across DUs
Lead training, communication, and change management
Build and lead the RDM function, with clear separation between governance, operations, and technical implementation, and coordinate priorities across the organization.
Qualifications:
Required
MSc/PhD in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Data Science, or related field
10+ years in research data management or scientific informatics in biotech/pharma
Strong understanding of drug discovery data workflows (Chemistry, Biology, DMPK, CROs)
Proven experience with Scientific Data Management System (SDMS)/ELN platforms (e.g. CDD, Dotmatics, Revvity or equivalent)
Demonstrated experience defining and implementing data standards, ontologies, FAIR principles, and governance frameworks
Experience designing end-to-end data workflows and structured data capture (templates, metadata, QC)
Working knowledge of data handling and integration (SQL, Python, R) and data visualization tools (e.g. Spotfire)
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills
Proven ability to:
Define and execute data strategy aligned with business and portfolio goals
Lead cross-functional transformation of workflows and ways of working
Translate strategy into practical, scalable, system-enabled solutions
Ability to balance strategic design with hands-on execution in a fast-moving environment
Fluent in both English and Chinese for daily professional communication
Preferred
Experience configuring, optimizing, or implementing SDMS/ELN platforms
Experience with data integration, migration, or workflow automation in scientific environments
Familiarity with AI/ML data requirements and enabling ML-ready datasets
Experience working with CRO data workflows and external partners
Exposure to cloud or data integration environments (e.g. AWS, Azure)
