Come share our vision and passion in delivering a superior customer experience.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong><u>What the job entails (overview)</u></strong></p>\n<p>This is your opportunity to embrace a culture that promotes a passion for customer service, teamwork and continuous improvement as well as ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service experience for our members and customers of Calgary Co-op.&nbsp;The&nbsp;<strong>Pharmacy Technician</strong>&nbsp;position reports to the Pharmacy manager and assists in the daily operations of the Pharmacy department.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong><u>&nbsp;</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong><u>Where you’ll be focusing (your day to day):</u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Patient Care &amp; Customer service:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Follow the customer care and service standards of the Calgary Co-op.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Interact with customers and employees in a positive manner to enhance customer services and create a healthy work environment.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Pharmacy operations:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist in the operation of the Pharmacy Department within the guidelines of the Alberta Pharmaceutical Association, as well as the policies and procedures of the Calgary Co-op.</li>\n <li>Utilize a high degree of concentration when assisting in the filling of prescriptions, this requires attentiveness to detail and accuracy.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions</li>\n <li>Help in the management of dispensary inventories, through the ordering, receiving and rotating of stock and supplies, returning outdated and unsaleable product, and assisting in the inventory count.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>To be familiar with and assist in current merchandising practices (when not occupied with duties involving the filling of a prescription).&nbsp;</li>\n <li>To be familiar with all departmental operating objectives and exercise a high level of responsibility towards the achievement of these objectives.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>To be familiar with all merchandise carried in the department, with merchandise normally carried in pharmacies, as well as to be aware of new products and trends pertaining to the pharmaceutical and retail industry.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assist in the proper care and maintenance of equipment pertaining to the Pharmacy.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Other responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>To be aware of, and informed about Calgary Co-op policies, guidelines, procedures, and approved practices.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Responsible for general housekeeping duties and the general appearance of the department when not occupied with duties involving the filling of a prescription.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Using the approved Position Descriptions as a basis, to work with the Pharmacy Manager in developing a detailed annual performance plan for this position, this will form the basis of the annual performance appraisal.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assist in special projects as required.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Focus on continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility using creativity, ingenuity, and a high degree of common sense.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>What you will need (Requirements):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of experience and education.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Pass the Calgary Co-op Pharmacy Assistant test.</li>\n <li>Registered as a Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacy&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Completed a recognized Pharmacy Assistant Program (preferred)&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Two (2) years of dispensing experience (desirable)</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>We offer:</strong></p>\n<p>Calgary Co-op takes pride in providing more than just an attractive compensation and benefits plan, as well as an industry leading pension plan and recognition program.&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A competitive total compensation package that includes incentive plan</li>\n <li>We offer a comprehensive benefits program including:<br>\n  Sick leave, Medical, dental, prescription drug, and vision coverage for you and your family</li>\n <li>Pension plan after 1 year</li>\n <li>Employee Discount Program</li>\n <li>Ongoing In-House Training &amp; Education Courses</li>\n <li>Flexible work life arrangements to meet your lifestyle needs</li>\n <li>Employee career development assistance Program&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Employee Recognition Program</li>\n <li>Community involvement opportunities</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT CALGARY COOP&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>www.calgarycoop.com&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Calgary Co-op has been proudly serving the community since 1956, when it opened its first store with local farmers and ranchers to provide fresh, farm-to-table foods.
