Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position is located on the TEST 3 contract, located at White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) in Las Cruces, New Mexico.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The Safety Professional will be responsible for the following on the TEST 3 contract: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assist with the implementation of organizational Environment, Health, & Safety (EHS) Programs and Standards to identify and control project risks</li>\n <li>Participate in Project Safety Pre-Planning/Job Hazard Analysis activities</li>\n <li>Provide on-site consultation, coaching and collaboration with project teams and contractors to ensure a safe project work environment</li>\n <li>Conduct safety audits/inspections at project sites to help ensure compliance with WSTF EHS programs, procedures, and standards</li>\n <li>Help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, related rules, and regulations (OSHA, NIOSH, NFPA, EPA, etc.)</li>\n <li>Identify actual and potential hazards and provide consultation to eliminate and/or control hazards and manage risk to acceptable levels</li>\n <li>Assist with the delivery of EHS Training Classes</li>\n <li>Stop any unsafe activity or action immediately and work with contractors and Project Teams to develop a safe work plan to resume work safely</li>\n <li>Review incident reports for Close Calls/Mishaps and assist with investigations</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 5 years Construction or General Industry Safety experience</li>\n <li>Knowledge of EHS standards and experience in conducting EHS audits/inspections</li>\n <li>Excellent written and oral communication skills with emphasis on maintaining positive business relationships within all levels of the organization</li>\n <li>Ability to follow the safe practices and rules contained in the SLI Corporate Safety and Health Plan and other such rules and practices</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to identify unsafe work practices and vocalize productive corrective actions</li>\n <li>Ability to train and coach colleagues on issues relating to EHS</li>\n <li>Effective interpersonal and written and oral communication skills</li>\n <li>Proficient in Windows applications - MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Word</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor Science (B.S.) Degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS); Other safety-related degrees and/or safety-related experience will be considered</li>\n <li>Experience working with Asbestos, Lead Paint, HAZWOPER, Ergonomics, Hearing Conservation, Indoor Air Quality, Biological or Chemical Hazards, or other experience working with industrial/occupational hygiene disciplines</li>\n <li>OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety Course</li>\n <li>Completion of accredited OSHA Training Institute courses</li>\n <li>Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST)</li>\n <li>Knowledge of regulations and guidance documents from OSHA, EPA, CDC, ACGIH, NIOSH, NFPA, AIHA, etc.</li>\n <li>Experience with OSHA voluntary programs such as VPP</li>\n <li>NASA or other Government contract experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>",
