PGW is dedicated to becoming the greenest natural gas delivery company in the region.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Philadelphia Gas Works (PGW) is offering internships/co-ops for ENERGY INNOVATION & NEW ENERGY VENTURES students in our Corporate Planning Department. Opportunities are available during the academic/calendar year and summer months.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The PGW Internship Program is designed for students currently enrolled FULL-TIME at an accredited college or university with a sophomore classification or above ONLY.</strong></p>\n<p><strong>If you are not a full-time student, please refer to our other current employment opportunities.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS </strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p>1.       Research Projects</p>\n<p>o   Support Corporate Planning department in researching case studies and utility best practices for energy innovation, referencing:</p>\n<p>§  University partnerships</p>\n<p>§  Business incubators</p>\n<p>§  Public-facing conferences and seminars</p>\n<p>§  Utility pilot programs</p>\n<p>o   Provide recommendations for PGW’s energy innovation programming by identifying potential partners and maintaining a catalogue of businesses whose work supports business diversification efforts including: carbon capture, alternative energy, and energy efficiency.</p>\n<p>o   As ideas are identified, support the development of a project portfolio.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>2.       Data Analysis & Technology Application</p>\n<p>o   Review engineering studies of new technologies to determine cost-effectiveness.</p>\n<p>o   Assess applicability of new technologies for deployment in a PGW-specific utility setting.</p>\n<p>o   Develop and present analyses in the form of a business case or commercialization structure.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>3.       Program Communications</p>\n<p>o   Assistance in development of communications materials</p>\n<p>o   Identifying key outreach partners & stakeholders</p>\n<p>o   Support developing the structure and drafting content for PGW’s upcoming energy innovation website.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>4.       Other Duties as Assigned</p>\n<p>o   Support other departmental activities that may include work with corporate sustainability, strategy, center-of-excellence of work products, as needed.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>\n  <ul>\n   <li>Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Studies or Engineering, or other related field of study OR currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree or Masters degree program in Business Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Studies or Engineering, or other related field of study. </li>\n   <li>Must have strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees.</li>\n   <li>Must be profiecient in the use of Microsoft Office </li>\n   <li>Must have problem solving and analytical skills with the ability develop creative solutions </li>\n   <li>Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment, with limited supervision.</li>\n  </ul>Must have organizational management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and usually under short deadlines  ;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PGW is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer, M/F/D/VAAP/EEO. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Location: 800 W Montgomery Ave, Philadelphia, PA19122</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>While we appreciate all responses, only those who are uniquely qualified will be contacted.
