In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with our dynamic Geospatial &amp; Digital Solutions (GDS) Market Sector team to support diverse IR&amp;D and customer-focused projects within a multi-disciplinary organization to achieve specific goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will focus on leveraging AI solutions and digital tools to improve efficiency, scalability, and the overall digital experience for both internal teams and external customers.</p><p>Reporting directly to our Director of our Digital HUB Team, we want to leverage your expertise in data lake implementation and provisioning. This role focuses on managing data storage solutions, ensuring data availability, security, and optimizing ETL and backup processes for internal and external products.</p><p><strong>What&nbsp;You&rsquo;ll Do:</strong></p><ul><li>Design, implement, and manage scalable data lake architectures and provisioning strategies to support enterprise data workflows.</li><li>Administer modern databases including DuckDB and Azure Storage, ensuring efficient dataset storage, retrieval, and availability.</li><li>Develop, maintain, and monitor ETL pipelines to support reliable data ingestion, transformation, and integration.</li><li>Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery processes, including failover techniques to guarantee data durability and minimize downtime.</li><li>Craft and implement data governance, cataloging, and metadata management strategies and plans.</li><li>Ensure data storage security and compliance with policies for data at rest and in transit.</li><li>Monitor data lake performance, storage usage, and optimize cost and resource utilization.</li><li>Troubleshoot data availability issues and coordinate resolution efforts.</li><li>Document data architecture, provisioning processes, and operational procedures.</li><li>Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to optimize data accessibility and support analysis requirements.</li><li>Document data workflows, processes, and findings related to data management.</li></ul><p><strong>What You&rsquo;ll Bring:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Minimum 5 years of experience as a data professional.</li><li>Proven experience managing and provisioning data lakes using Azure Storage or equivalent cloud storage platforms for customer-facing products.</li><li>Experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, or other cloud-based data warehousing services.</li><li>Certifications related to Azure Data Engineer or Cloud Data Management.</li><li>Hands-on expertise with modern databases such as DuckDB or similar analytical databases.</li><li>Strong knowledge of ETL pipeline design, implementation, and maintenance.</li><li>Experience in data privacy and compliance for multi-tenant environments.</li><li>Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery strategies for customer-facing products.</li><li>Familiarity with spatial databases, API data access, geospatial data formats, and real-time streaming of geospatial data.&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.</li><li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.&emsp;</li><li>Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screen.</li><li>Comply with company drug and alcohol policy.</li><li>Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate&rsquo;s start date.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Skills &amp; Certifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Strong Project Management Skills:</strong> Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.</li><li><strong>Digital and Technology Expertise:</strong> Understanding of various digital technologies, platforms, and tools relevant to the program&#39;s objectives.</li><li><strong>Communication and Interpersonal Skills:&nbsp;</strong>Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, build relationships, and influence decision-making.</li><li><strong>Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:</strong> Ability to identify and solve complex problems, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions.</li><li><strong>Leadership and Team Management Skills:</strong> Ability to lead and motivate teams, build consensus, and drive collaboration.</li><li><strong>Customer Knowledge:</strong> Familiarity with Federal Market and technical approaches related to next-generation cloud, network, and cybersecurity technologies.</li></ul><p><strong>Location Requirements</strong></p><p>The position will primarily work onsite at the Newport News, VA office location.&nbsp;</p><p data-pasted=\"true\"><strong>Compensation&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Expected Salary: $99,000 - $125,000 per year</p><p>Versar Global Solutions is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the Company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant&rsquo;s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
