Successful candidates will show ability to&#160;design and assess curriculum plans that foster rigorous student learning and engagement while enhancing the necessary skills required in adult learners in the field of art and design.</p>\n\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Be proficient in a wide range of media and techniques</li>\n\t<li>Must be able to communicate well with students and other faculty members</li>\n\t<li>Demonstrate a strong understanding of concepts in art and fundamentals of design</li>\n\t<li>Engage in class and student assessment while maintaining all necessary paperwork and records based on Program Director requirements</li>\n\t<li>Collaborate with colleagues in both program and field advancement activities such as creative and/or scholarly involvement</li>\n\t<li>Experience in supervising facilities and students in a 2D environment</li>\n\t<li>Evidence of high level of personal agency and initiative</li>\n\t<li>Demonstrate organizational skills for curriculum management and program design including analysis of data for continuous improvement</li>\n\t<li>Possess ability to contribute positively to a dynamic setting with collaborative faculty</li>\n\t<li>Two or more years with teaching experience in Painting, Drawing, or other 2D art processes</li>\n\t<li>Evidence of successful career in related field</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Experience and network in the Middle Tennessee region preferred but not necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p><strong>Education:</strong> M.F.A. required</p>\n\n<p><strong>Additional Information:</strong></p>\n\n<p>Completed application will include:</p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Letter of interest, including description of approach to teaching painting in an undergraduate liberal arts college</li>\n\t<li>Updated and detailed curriculum vitae</li>\n\t<li>Portfolio including 20 images of recent work</li>\n\t<li>Portfolio including 20 images of student work</li>\n\t<li>Names and contact information of three professional references (letters of recommendation are requested once finalists are chosen)</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p>Cumberland University is a teaching-focused and student-centered bachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s level university.
