You’ll work closely with hardware and software engineers to ensure robust, reliable, and manufacturable firmware solutions from early development through validation and production.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>If you enjoy building embedded systems that ship to real customers and perform in demanding real-world environments, this role will suit you.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What you’ll be doing:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Designing and developing embedded firmware for STATSports products, from concept through to production</li>\n<li>Owning assigned firmware work packages, ensuring delivery meets cost, quality, and specification targets</li>\n<li>Collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to ensure firmware integrates cleanly with production designs</li>\n<li>Supporting efficient, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing through robust firmware design</li>\n<li>Creating validation test procedures, field diagnostics, and quality-of-service checks</li>\n<li>Performing hardware and firmware debugging within complex embedded systems</li>\n<li>Producing firmware documentation, design guides, and participating in design reviews</li>\n<li>Supporting manufacturing and test teams during the bring-up and validation of finished designs</li>\n<li>Adhering to QA processes and actively contributing to continuous quality improvement</li>\n<li>Planning firmware schedules, effort estimates, and delivery timelines in collaboration with the PMO</li>\n<li>Meeting deadlines while maintaining high standards of innovation, quality, and reliability</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What we’re looking for:</span></p>\n<p>You’ll likely enjoy this role if you:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hold a degree in Engineering or Computer Science (Electrical, Computer, or Software discipline preferred)</li>\n<li>Have 3+ years of experience in a product development environment</li>\n<li>Are confident in developing embedded firmware in C and C++ (RTOS experience a plus)</li>\n<li>Have hands-on experience with ARM microcontrollers</li>\n<li>Are comfortable working with interfaces such as Bluetooth, UART, I2C, SPI, QSPI, Ethernet, RS232, and RS422</li>\n<li>Have a strong grasp of embedded fundamentals, including timers, PWM, ADC, DAC, DMA, and interrupts</li>\n<li>Are experienced with IDEs such as Eclipse, Keil, or IAR</li>\n<li>Are comfortable with real-time debugging and system-level communication protocols</li>\n<li>Use collaborative tools such as GIT and JIRA as part of your workflow</li>\n<li>Balance technical depth with clear communication and planning</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Nice to have (but not essential):</span></p>\n<p>Experience in regulated environments (such as medical devices), formal project management training, or advanced debugging and optimisation work is a bonus, but not required.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What’s in it for you:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A senior role developing firmware used by elite athletes worldwide</li>\n<li>Ownership of embedded platforms from development through production</li>\n<li>Collaboration with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams</li>\n<li>Exposure to cutting-edge wearable and sports technology</li>\n<li>A culture that values quality, innovation, and continuous improvement</li>\n<li>The opportunity to see your work deliver real-world performance insights</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>If you enjoy building reliable embedded systems and want your work to have a visible impact in sport, we’d love to hear from you.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Equal opportunity employer:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span>STATSports is an equal opportunity employer.
