    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Department 341 Welding & NDT Engineering – Suppliers and Strategic Sourcing is looking for an additional team member to support onboarding of a new supplier.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Basic job responsibilities include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide dedicated on-site support to supplier developing NAVSEA Technical Publication welding program.</li>\n <li>Support supplier in qualifying new welding procedures</li>\n <li>Review and approve supplier welding procedures</li>\n <li>Offer insight and guidance in the development of quality procedures that support welding program</li>\n <li>Provide direct oversight and continued assessment of supplier weld program performance</li>\n <li>Provide technical guidance and expertise with respect to construction support, problem resolution and corrective actions for welding performed by supplier</li>\n <li>Maintain company standards, procedures, best practices, and process improvements in the field of welding</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor of Science degree or higher in engineering</li>\n <li>5+ years of post graduate related engineering experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Degree in Materials Science or Welding Engineering</li>\n <li>Three or more years of engineering experience in aerospace, defense, heavy fabrication or shipbuilding applications</li>\n <li>The ability to read and understand component specifications, military specifications and engineering drawings</li>\n <li>Experience working with basic arc welding processes and an understanding of the fundamentals of welding metallurgy</li>\n <li>Experience with the development and qualification of weld procedures</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with both a technical and nontechnical audience</li>\n <li>Candidate must be highly motivated, perform independently, as well as interact with other groups and organizations, including interfacing regularly with SUPSHIP or NAVSEA customers, in an engineering environment</li>\n <li>Ability to effectively prioritize work and support multiple projects at the same time</li>\n <li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Physical Qualifications</h2>Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting\n<h2>Environmental Attributes</h2>Acids or Alkalis, Cold, Dry, Dusty, Fumes, Hot, Inside, Noise, Oily, Outside, Wet",
