It’s also about how we support one another and how we show up for our community. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Together, we keep getting better - advancing our mission to transform healthcare and serve as a leader of positive change.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>Medical Assistant</strong> is responsible for ensuring that they assist physicians with all patient care.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>A day in the life of a <strong>Medical Assistant</strong> at <strong>Hackensack Meridian <em>Health</em></strong> includes:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Measuring and recording vital signs </li>\n <li>Recording patient interview, history and chief complaint. </li>\n <li>Providing patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of diseased, home treatments and special diets. </li>\n <li>Assisting the physician with exams and minor office surgery. </li>\n <li>Preparing patients for examinations and performing routine screening tests.</li>\n <li>Change dressings, applying bandages, removing sutures and other first aid procedures. </li>\n <li>Using CPR skills when required. </li>\n <li>Maintaining supplies, equipment, stocking, and sterilization of instruments </li>\n <li>Practice OSHA safety standards. </li>\n <li>Performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times. </li>\n <li>May triage patient phone calls/review prescriptions with patient as directed by physician </li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances </li>\n <li>Perform Phlebotomy </li>\n <li>Other duties and/or projects as assigned. </li>\n <li>Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. </li>\n <li>Lifts a minimum of 5 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 lbs. and stands a minimum of 1 hour a day.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. </li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills </li>\n <li>Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations </li>\n <li>Ability to work in a fast paced environment </li>\n <li>Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Licenses and Certifications Required: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> Licenses and Certifications Preferred: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certified Phlebotomy Technician</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you feel that the above description speaks directly to your strengths and capabilities, then please apply today!   </p>\n<h2>Starting Minimum Rate</h2>Minimum rate of $21.70 Hourly\n<h2>Job Posting Disclosure</h2>HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
