The Senior Estimator-C/S/A serves as lead civil, structural and architectural estimator for firm fixed price pursuit in coordination with the Senior Estimating Manager. Who are we? You will have a heavy hand in the coordination and supervision of other Estimators and will price/bid projects that shape your community. Responsibilities Read plans and specifications and understand the requirements of the RFP focusing on the Civil, Structural, and Architectural, and other related specification sections. Analyze, quantify, and provides cost estimates for the / scope of work. Inclusive of Gilbane’s General Requirements. Develops accurate labor crews, crew productivity and provides input for project schedule. Advise designers, in design-build projects, on solution with the lowest initial cost to meet the RFP. Write effective RFI’s. Creates and coordinates comprehensive bid packages. Identify and engage with C/S/A subcontractors throughout the bidding process. Create and distribute the C/S/A bid scope of work checklist. Collect, analyze, and compare competitive subcontract and supplier bids. Develops and recommends appropriate risk register values for this scope of work. Tracks and reports on current material and labor prices, including escalation. Tracks and reports on current material and equipment to identify long-lead items. Lump Sum Bidding. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Extensive knowledge of Winest, On‐Screen Take‐off, and similar software for take‐offs and estimate pricing for C/S/A systems construction. Supportive computer skills for varied formats such as basic Windows applications plus pdf’s, TEAMS, Zoom, etc. Ability to present estimating deliverables to management and explain advantages in utilizing one contractor over another, scope gaps, cost swings, etc. Ability to conceptually estimate projects with limited information. Ability to estimate multiple facility types such as hospitals, hangars, office structures, specialized mission structures, base improvements, renovations, and additions. Ability to maintain healthy working relationships with industry partners (Owners, designers, subcontractors, etc.) for the development of estimating deliverables. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
