Come grow with KMC Stampings!</strong></p><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>SUMMARY OF POSITION:</strong></p><p>The CNC Machinist Apprentice will support the CNC/Wire EDM machining department, continually training and learning, while taking on advancing levels of responsibility, and operating with increased levels of independence. This is a company sponsored state apprenticeship role with on the job and school training to earn a CNC journeyman certification. &nbsp; &nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;<strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p>This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Assist in setting up CNC machines, including tool changes, fixture adjustments, and verifying machine settings to ensure precision and quality</li><li>Gain familiarity with different types of machinery and tooling, learning to identify common machine malfunctions and troubleshoot minor issues under supervision</li><li>Consistently perform routine cleaning tasks, including removing debris, cleaning machine surfaces, and ensuring that floors and work areas are free of hazards</li><li>Verify product quality using calipers and micrometers</li><li>Other related duties as assigned or required</li></ul><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. &nbsp;The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.</p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (GED)</li><li>Excellent work ethic and willingness to learn</li><li>Effective communication and teamwork abilities</li><li>Self-motivated with a sense of accountability, including record of good attendance</li><li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li><li>Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs.</li><li>Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery</li><li>Must own or be willing to acquire their own tools</li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude and able to operate hand tools</li></ul><p>Preferred Skills</p><ul><li>Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&amp;T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)</li><li>Knowledge of CNC machines, manual machine tools, and manufacturing processes</li></ul><p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. &nbsp;The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
