Further information is available at <a href=\"http://www.bgis.com/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">www.bgis.com</a></p>\n<p>SUMMARY</p>\n<p>The Regional Operations Manager – HVAC is responsible for the effective leadership, technical oversight, and operational performance of a skilled trades team with a strong concentration in HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical building systems. This role ensures the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of HVAC maintenance, repair, and project work across the assigned region while driving operational excellence, service performance, and client satisfaction.</p>\n<p>KEY DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</p>\n<p>People Leadership</p>\n<p>People leadership responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Leads and manages a regional team of skilled mechanical trades</li>\n <li>Provides hands-on technical leadership and guidance related to HVAC systems, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and lifecycle planning</li>\n <li>Responsible for all people management activities including employee engagement, training, development, performance management, hiring, retention, and compensation recommendations</li>\n <li>Ensures strict adherence to health and safety standards specific to HVAC work (e.g., lockout/tagout, refrigerant handling, confined spaces, working at heights)</li>\n <li>Conducts regular toolbox talks and safety briefings with a focus on mechanical and HVAC-related hazards</li>\n <li>Ensures work is performed in compliance with BGIS standards, client requirements, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes</li>\n <li>Maintains strong technical knowledge of HVAC regulations, building codes, and refrigerant compliance and ensures technicians remain current and certified</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Operations Management</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversees HVAC and mechanical operations budgets, including labor, materials, subcontractor costs, and work order expenditures</li>\n <li>Plans and deploys HVAC resources to effectively support service calls, preventive maintenance programs, capital projects, seasonal readiness, and emergency response</li>\n <li>Ensures HVAC work orders and projects are completed on time.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Drives operational performance through proactive maintenance strategies, reduction of callbacks, and root-cause analysis of HVAC system failures</li>\n <li>Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop, refine, and implement HVAC-specific processes, standards, and preventive maintenance programs</li>\n <li>Recommends and implements HVAC technologies, tools, and CMMS enhancements to improve reliability, energy efficiency, and system uptime</li>\n <li>Partners with Dispatch and CMMS teams to optimize HVAC service scheduling, response times, and resource utilization</li>\n <li>Investigates and resolves HVAC-related operational issues with a high sense of urgency to maintain client confidence and comfort</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Continuous Improvement &amp; Client Support</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Acts as a subject matter expert for HVAC and mechanical systems within the region</li>\n <li>Supports client discussions related to system performance, asset condition, and mechanical lifecycle planning</li>\n <li>Drives efficiencies through increased self-perform HVAC work, optimized labor loading, and improved preventive maintenance compliance</li>\n <li>Ensures consistent delivery of high-quality HVAC services aligned with BGIS operational and safety standards</li>\n</ul>\n<p>EDUCATION, JOB-RELATED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE &amp; QUALIFICATIONS</p>\n<p>MINIMUM EDUCATION:&nbsp;Community college diploma or equivalent training (e.g. RPA, CET)</p>\n<p>JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE: 5–10 years of progressive experience in HVAC or mechanical trades operations</p>\n<p>KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS</p>\n<ul>\n <li>8 to 10 years of HVAC and mechanical trades operations experience</li>\n <li>Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or management role overseeing HVAC technicians</li>\n <li>Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, refrigeration, chillers, boilers, air handling units, and building automation systems</li>\n <li>In-depth knowledge of HVAC-related codes, regulations, and safety requirements</li>\n <li>Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop skilled HVAC trades professionals</li>\n <li>Strong operational, planning, budgeting, and performance management skills</li>\n <li>Ability to develop and implement HVAC-specific processes, SOPs, and maintenance programs</li>\n <li>Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills</li>\n <li>High level of computer proficiency, including CMMS platforms</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation</p>\n<p>Trade certification in one or more of the following would be considered an asset</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Journeyman Refrigeration License</li>\n <li>Gas Fitter Certification</li>\n <li>Additional HVAC or mechanical trade certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">At BGIS we believe that diversity and inclusion is a key business driver, such that we never lose sight of its importance as it is woven into the fabric of our organization.
