The Linux Systems Administrator will play a critical role in ensuring our Linux servers and systems are configured and running optimally.  This individual will solve complex database problems and play a critical role in the overall success of the organization.  This is an exciting opportunity for individuals that enjoy working in a collaborative environment and enjoy making a difference.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Design and manage the installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux servers and workstations</li>\n <li>Provide technical support for computer network issues</li>\n <li>Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues</li>\n <li>Design integrated computer systems</li>\n <li>Test computer hardware performance</li>\n <li>Test software performance</li>\n <li>Document operational activities</li>\n <li>Install computer hardware</li>\n <li>Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, and storage in accordance with best practices.</li>\n <li>Perform system monitoring, integrity verification, and availability of hardware, server resources, and key processes</li>\n <li>Perform regular security monitoring to identify any intrusions</li>\n <li>Create, execute, and maintain data backup plan</li>\n <li>Ensure all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media</li>\n <li>Create, change, and or delete user accounts as required</li>\n <li>Responsible for hardware/software asset management and deployment for new and existing employees</li>\n <li>Provide help desk support and resolve issues for end-users</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Job Qualifications & Experience </h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Bash, Python, or a UNIX oriented scripting language (particularly with a focus on automation)</li>\n <li>Minimum of 6 years of systems administration experience in a small to medium sized business’s IT team</li>\n <li>Experience working in a Linux environment as a system administrator</li>\n <li>Familiarity with basic networking (IP addresses, routing, firewalls)</li>\n <li>Familiarity with configuration management tools</li>\n <li>Must have a US Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master’s degree in computer science or related field</li>\n <li>10 years of systems administration experience</li>\n <li>Experience in Ansible</li>\n <li>CompTIA Linux+ Certification </li>\n <li>Experience working in an Enterprise Linux environment with any distribution</li>\n <li>Experience with LUKS encryption and LVM management at scale</li>\n <li>SELinux or AppArmor Endpoint Management </li>\n <li>Containerization experience with Docker or equivalent a huge plus</li>\n <li>Server Endpoint Automation and Deployment with Kubernetes or equivalent</li>\n <li>CompTIA Server+ Certification</li>\n <li>Red Hat Certified Engineer Certification</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The total compensation for this role can vary from $125,000 to $156,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
