    "description": "<p><span>Café Aide                                                                                                       </span></p>\n<p><span>Grow Academy </span></p>\n<p><span>Part-Time, Year-round, hourly</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Reports to:  </span><span>  Executive Chef, Grow Academy</span></p>\n<p><span>Summary Description: </span><span>   This is a kitchen staff position.  Under the supervision of the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Cafe Leads, the Cafe Aide performs a variety of duties related to food preparation, service and general maintenance in the kitchen and dining area.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Duties and Responsibilities:   </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Washes dishes; cleans and scrubs pots and pans</span></li>\n<li><span>Cleans and sets up trays</span></li>\n<li><span>Empties trash, recycling, and compost daily</span></li>\n<li><span>Sweeps and mops floors in kitchen and dining area</span></li>\n<li><span>Maintains clean serving areas and sets up cafeteria for timely service</span></li>\n<li><span>Sets up tray line by arranging food</span></li>\n<li><span>Assists the chef in the preparation of meals as needed</span></li>\n<li><span>Peels, slices, cores, and dices vegetables and fruits by hand or using such mechanical equipment as automatic peelers, slicers and dicers</span></li>\n<li><span>Pours salad dressings and condiments</span></li>\n<li><span>Assists in stocking shelves, receiving and storing orders</span></li>\n<li><span>Properly packs, labels, and stores leftover food</span></li>\n<li><span>Follows state and federal regulations regarding food handling, serving, and cleanliness</span></li>\n<li><span>Serves meals throughout lunch period</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ability to read and follow all food safety and physical safety rules</span></li>\n<li><span>strong communication skills especially when interacting with scholars</span></li>\n<li><span>Exceptional personal hygiene</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to lift, bend, stoop and carry heavy trays and packages of food and supplies  </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Ability to stand, stoop, reach, and bend. Mobility of arms to reach, dexterity of hands to grasp and manipulate large and small objects</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to stand for long periods and walk long distances</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to lift, push and/or pull objects (up to approximately 50 pounds unassisted and up to approximately 100 pounds assisted)</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to read small print</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work with and in the proximity of equipment with moving mechanical parts</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work in a physically demanding environment</span></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work around loud noise</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Experience Required:  </span><span>Demonstrated skill and experience in the preparation and serving of food, especially in an elementary school setting  </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span>Special Requirements:</span><span> Must have or be willing to obtain a </span><span>Serve Safe</span><span> Food Handler’s certification.</span></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>",
