The ideal candidate is skilled in open, VATS (Video‑Assisted Thoracic Surgery), and preferably robotic techniques and is committed to comprehensive, multidisciplinary care across the pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative continuum.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Core Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Patient Evaluation:</strong> Conduct consultations; obtain and analyze medical histories; order and interpret diagnostic tests; educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and surgical risks/benefits.</li>\n <li><strong>Surgical Procedures:</strong> Perform advanced thoracic operations, including lung and esophageal tumor resections, airway procedures, diaphragm/chest wall reconstruction, and management of trauma. (Program‑specific scope may include valve/structural or transplant participation if credentialed and applicable.)</li>\n <li><strong>Perioperative Care:</strong> Lead care before, during, and after surgery—ICU/step‑down rounding, pain control, complication prevention/management, and timely discharge planning.</li>\n <li><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with oncology, pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, radiation oncology, critical care, radiology, pathology, and palliative care to deliver coordinated, patient‑centered care.</li>\n <li><strong>Quality, Safety & Documentation:</strong> Adhere to evidence‑based protocols; ensure accurate, timely documentation and coding; engage in morbidity & mortality review and quality improvement.</li>\n <li><strong>Education & Leadership:</strong> Teach residents/APPs (if applicable), participate in tumor boards and service line meetings, and contribute to protocol development.</li>\n <li><strong>Professional Growth:</strong> Maintain CME, board certification/eligibility, and competency in evolving techniques (including minimally invasive and robotic platforms).</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Visa Sponsorship: H1B</p>\n<p><strong><u>Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:  </u></strong></p>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong> MD/DO</p>\n<p><strong>Licensure/Certification: </strong>BC/BE in Specialty, ACLS and BLS Certified, DEA License, and Missouri Board of Registration of the Healing Arts.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>VATS required, Robotics preferred</li>\n <li>Experienced providers preferred; new graduates will be considered.</li>\n <li>Strong commitment to clinical excellence and teamwork.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Benefits for a Better You: </u></strong></p>\n<p>·         Day one benefits package</p>\n<p>·         Pension Plan & 401K</p>\n<p>·         Competitive compensation</p>\n<p>·         FSA & HSA options</p>\n<p>·         PTO programs available</p>\n<p>·         Education Assistance</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Why You Belong Here: </u></strong></p>\n<p>You matter.
