POSITION :                Support Staff DEPARTMENT :         Diesel Shop LOCATION :               North Bay REFERENCE :           300-35B-27 RATE OF PAY :          $25.44 - $28.26/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement. MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES : Delivering parts Operating a forklift Sand and glass blasting Removing carpeting, tape and ty-rap Working with glue, seam sealer, paint stripper Tagging parts removed from equipment Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment May work various shifts including weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather May include performing preparatory work to coaches on the assembly line Performs other related duties as assigned Current shift schedules are: Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday 2:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. Monday to Thursday 11:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m. REQUIREMENTS : Secondary School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Previous labour experience Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) Excellent organizational and planning skills Experience operating a forklift considered an asset Demonstrated ability to work in a unionized team environment Must be available for shift work Valid driver’s license an asset Previous railway experience an asset Must be committed to Company Health and Safety APPLICATION PROCESS : The successful candidate will need to pass the following clearances: criminal record check, employment references and education verification.
