If you enjoy helping others, providing excellent service, and working in a warm community, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Laundy Aide Position Overivew:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Laundry team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing laundry support. This position is responsible for caring for facility linens and personal clothing of residents in a variety of ways including collecting, laundering, folding and returning the fresh, clean linens/clothing to the designated locations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em>Shifts available:</em></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong><em>8am - 4pm</em></strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><em>(there is an every other weekend commitment for all staff)</em></strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Laundy Aide</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Consistently demonstrates the Elderwood iCARE Values.</li>\n <li>Sorts soiled linen or clothes into appropriate categories according to type, soiling, fabric and color.</li>\n <li>Labels residents clothing and retains records of personal possesions of each resident.</li>\n <li>Assists in locating missing articles of clothing.</li>\n <li>Loads washing machines, selects wash cycle, adds soaps, detergents, and bleaches.</li>\n <li>Transfers washed linen or clothes into dryers and start machine.</li>\n <li>Sorts dry linen, and folds and prepares for delivery to designated areas within the facility.</li>\n <li>Prepares for delivery, and distributes personal garments of residents.</li>\n <li>Removes lint and dust from machines, and keeps laundry area clean on a daily basis.</li>\n <li>Practices good infection control measures in the processing of laundry items and in personal habits.</li>\n <li>Handles responsibility for keeping compounds and hazardous substances properly stored.</li>\n <li>Assists with studies of new products or laundry methods when necessary.</li>\n <li>Arrives to work on time, and works as scheduled; responsible for own transportation.</li>\n <li>Observes and practices confidentiality of resident information and privacy when performing job duties.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>From</h2>\n<h2>Up to</h2>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Laundry Aide</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 18 yrs. age required, HS diploma or equivalent preferred.</li>\n <li>Position-related experience preferred but not required.</li>\n <li>An interest in the laundry operation necessary.</li>\n <li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions required.</li>\n <li>Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; respectful and dignified treatment of residents required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
