    "description": "<h2>Description</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Works under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist to support pharmaceutical care for patients.</p></li>\n <li><p>Procures, receives, prepares, packages, distributes, and disposes of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintains an established inventory of drugs and commonly used supplies.</p></li>\n <li><p>Re-orders and stocks items upon delivery to ensure immediate availability of medications and supplies.</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintains competency and follows departmental, USP, DEA, and FDA guidelines when repackaging and compounding pharmaceutical products.</p></li>\n <li><p>Properly operates, troubleshoots, monitors, and cleans departmental automation and equipment.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensures pharmacist product verification and facilitates timely and appropriate medication distribution while maintaining product integrity.</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintains accurate records and patient profiles, including charging and crediting.</p></li>\n <li><p>Responds promptly to customer needs by:</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Answering phone calls</p></li>\n   <li><p>Counseling patients</p></li>\n   <li><p>Receiving and distributing messages</p></li>\n   <li><p>Triaging requests appropriately</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p>Demonstrates effective time management and task prioritization to support timely and safe patient care.</p></li>\n <li><p>Assists with operational support functions, including:</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Inventory management</p></li>\n   <li><p>Departmental cleaning</p></li>\n   <li><p>Disinfecting and decontaminating work areas</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p>Calibrates IV pumps and other equipment as needed.</p></li>\n <li><p>Conducts regular quality assurance inspections focused on TJC requirements, including checking product and equipment integrity and expiration dates.</p></li>\n <li><p>Performs prior authorizations and medication assistance within outpatient areas as needed.</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintains competency and follows departmental, OSHA, USP, URAC, and EPA guidelines to safely handle, prepare, distribute, and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous products.</p></li>\n <li><p>May collect, monitor, and evaluate data to analyze results and support performance improvement initiatives related to safe medication handling.</p></li>\n <li><p>Identifies and corrects discrepancies discovered through performance improvement processes.</p></li>\n <li><p>Under pharmacist supervision, may participate in direct patient care activities, including:</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>Medication history interviews</p></li>\n   <li><p>Medication education and patient counseling</p></li>\n   <li><p>Medication management</p></li>\n   <li><p>Vaccination administration</p></li>\n   <li><p>Pharmacokinetic monitoring</p></li>\n   <li><p>Drug information support</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li><p>May be assigned administrative projects, particularly focused on quality improvement and financial stewardship.</p></li>\n <li><p>Performs all other duties as assigned.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Acceptance and/or active enrollment in an accredited College of Pharmacy.</p></li>\n <li><p>Active Georgia Pharmacy Intern License.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Physical Requirements (Medium): 20-50 lbs.; up to 50% of the workday; 0-20 lbs up to 50% of workday; Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objected up to 35 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Environmental Factors: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure bio-hazardous waste, chemical/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required.
