    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Position Summary:&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p>The Technical Development Technician serves as the lead technician program owner across the M&amp;R network, responsible for developing, training, and auditing all technicians internally. This role combines advanced diagnostic expertise with organizational oversight to ensure uniform repair quality, technician capability growth, and cost-efficient maintenance practices. The incumbent owns the technical development pipeline, mechanic efficiency, and compliance across shop and mobile operations.</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Job Functions:</strong></p>\n<p>Technical Leadership &amp; Development</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Act as the program lead technician, providing diagnostic support and troubleshooting guidance for complex mechanical and electrical issues (tractors, trailers, containers, reefers, chassis).</li>\n <li>Author and maintain technical SOPs for PMs, major repairs, and diagnostics.</li>\n <li>Train, certify and mentor, shop and mobile technicians to standardized benchmarks (OEM, internal SOPs).</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain the Technician Development Roadmap, defining competencies from entry level through master certification.</li>\n <li>Collaborate cross-departmentally to identify failure trends related to technician retention and implement corrective actions.</li>\n <li>Oversee the upfit and design of mobile service trucks, including tooling and diagnostic system configurations.</li>\n <li>Track technician productivity, rework rate, and maintenance location performance using data generated by Fleet Maintenance Management Systems such as TMT and REACH.</li>\n <li>Report on results and impact to Fleet Maintenance leadership.</li>\n <li>Recommend changes to technician, tooling, and training investments based on performance data.</li>\n <li>Provide field-level diagnostic and repair support during peak workloads or critical breakdowns.</li>\n <li>Lead on-site technical audits for new shop locations.</li>\n <li>Validate and refine mobile maintenance processes to ensure consistency with in-shop standards.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum 6+ years of progressive diesel or fleet maintenance experience (tractor/trailer/mobile).</li>\n <li>Advanced diagnostic capability (electrical, emissions, refrigeration, hydraulics).</li>\n <li>Proven record of technician leadership, training, or multi-shop oversight.</li>\n <li>OEM Systems Certified, ASE Master Certifications considered.</li>\n <li>Advanced proficiency in TMT or equivalent Fleet Maintenance System, OEM diagnostic software.</li>\n <li>Strong data-analysis skills (Excel, Power BI, or equivalent) for KPI monitoring.</li>\n <li>Valid CDL A or B preferred; clean MVR required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Salary:</strong> up to $41.00/hr</p>\n<p><i>This is an estimated range based on the circumstances at the time of posting, however, may change based on a combination of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, education, market factors, geographical location, budget, and demand</i></p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Benefits</strong></p>\n<p>We offer a comprehensive benefits plan including:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Medical</li>\n <li>Dental&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Vision</li>\n <li>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</li>\n <li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li>\n <li>Life &amp; AD&amp;D Insurance</li>\n <li>Disability</li>\n <li>Paid Time Off</li>\n <li>Paid Holidays</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>BEWARE OF FRAUD!</strong></p>\n<p>Hub Group has become aware of online recruiting related scams in which individuals who are not affiliated with or authorized by Hub Group are using Hub Group’s name in fraudulent emails, job postings, or social media messages.
