    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>&nbsp;</p>\n\n<table>\n\t<tbody>\n\t\t<tr>\n\t\t\t<td>\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>\n\n\t\t\t<p>The Surgical Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic procedures by the application of ionizing radiation to produce radiographic images under a variety of conditions, and assisting physicians as required with the selection of practical applications and technical factors.<br/>\n\t\t\t<br/>\n\t\t\t<strong><font>Job Relationships</font></strong><br/>\n\t\t\t<font>Reports to the Diagnostic Imaging Operations Manager</font><br/>\n\t\t\t<br/>\n\t\t\t<strong><font>Principal Responsibilities</font></strong></p>\n\n\t\t\t<ul>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Responsible for coverage in Ambulatory Surgery, Pain Clinic and Diagnostic Radiology with varying shifts.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Obtain diagnostic radiographs utilizing proper exposure factors consistent with ALARA according to protocols established by Clinical Radiologists, SC.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Ability to operate a C-Arm.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Knowledge of and experience in CR/DR/DRX image acquisition and manipulation, including correcting data regarding patient information and image detail in PACS.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Knowledgeable of all procedures and protocols in the Surgery department, Pain Clinic and Radiology department.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Responsible when using Springfield Clinic computers and telephone as needed for patient care.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Proficient use of multiple computer systems relating to job.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Provide orientation/training to new technologists.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training &amp; accomplishments as required per policy.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Provide excellent customer service and adhere to Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Perform other job duties as assigned.</font></li>\n\t\t\t</ul>\n\t\t\t<br/>\n\t\t\t<strong><font>Education/Experience</font></strong><br/>\n\t\t\t<font>Must be a graduate of a JRCERT approved school of Radiology, and provide proof of current active certification with the ARRT.</font><br/>\n\t\t\t<br/>\n\t\t\t<strong><font>Licenses/Certificates</font></strong><br/>\n\t\t\t<font>Must maintain current active registration with the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Radiography.<br/>\n\t\t\tMust maintain current active licensure in Radiology with IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency-Division of Nuclear Safety).<br/>\n\t\t\tCPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.</font><br/>\n\t\t\t<br/>\n\t\t\t<strong><font>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</font></strong>\n\n\t\t\t<ul>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Must maintain professional behavior.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Must have the ability to work flexible hours based on department needs.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Must have the ability to control emotions and maintain composure under stress, using tact and good judgment and adjust to various personalities and situations.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Able to work with arms above head.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Able to wear lead apron for long periods of time.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Able to move mobile surgical x-ray equipment to various areas in the facility.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Ability to perform occasional heavy lifting, i.e. transferring patients to x-ray tables.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Able to assist patient to and from carts and tables.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Possess manual dexterity to use keyboard and handle equipment and appliances.</font></li>\n\t\t\t\t<li><font>Capable of pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, lifting and twisting.</font></li>\n\t\t\t</ul>\n\t\t\t<br/>\n\t\t\t<strong><font>Working Environment</font></strong><br/>\n\t\t\t<font>Will be exposed to conditions including exposure to blood and body fluids, tissue, contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials.</font><br/>\n\t\t\t<br/>\n\t\t\t<strong><font>PHI/Privacy Level</font></strong><br/>\n\t\t\t<font>HIPAA2</font></td>\n\t\t</tr>\n\t</tbody>\n</table>\n",
