This position centers on recognizing and responding to the institutional, structural, and systemic barriers that disproportionately impact households from marginalized communities and identities. By applying a deep understanding of affordable housing systems, basic needs services, health networks, and supportive community resources, the Community Health Worker helps residents access essential services and build pathways toward greater stability and self‑sufficiency.</p>\n<p><br>In partnership with Property Management and other organizational teams, the Community Health Worker provides guidance to residents facing notices of concern, emerging challenges, or service‑related issues. This role integrates trauma‑informed practices into all interactions, acknowledging each resident’s lived experience and offering support that is empathetic, grounded, and culturally responsive. Through this lens, the Community Health Worker contributes meaningfully to fostering safe, healthy, and equitable housing communities.<br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Resident Services</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect residents with services that match the needs they</li>\n<li>Provide coaching and guidance on navigating housing requirements and understanding lease expectations to reduce conflict and prevent lease violations.</li>\n<li>Support residents in accessing resources and coordinating with multiple service providers to work toward long-term stability.<br></li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Resource Coordination &amp; Referrals</span></span>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Coordinate internal and external referrals to ensure residents can access essential</li>\n<li>Provide coaching and guidance on navigating housing requirements and understanding lease expectations to reduce conflict and prevent lease violations.</li>\n<li>Support residents in accessing resources and coordinating with multiple service providers to work toward long-term stability.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Community Engagement</span></span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><br></span>\n<ul>\n<li>Organize classes and small-group workshops focused on life skills such as education, employment, and financial well-being.</li>\n<li>Plan and host monthly resident.</li>\n<li>Partner with health providers to offer onsite.</li>\n<li>Participate in internal and external meetings.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with Community Managers and external partners to build relationships, address barriers, and support eviction-prevention efforts.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Administrative &amp; Communication Tasks</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain accurate, complete, and timely resident files, ensuring documentation is updated within 48 hours of each interaction.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What We’re Looking For:</span></p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience &amp; Technical Skills</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>2+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education, fieldwork, and/or lived experience) working with individuals or households facing housing instability or other barriers</li>\n<li>Experience working within interdisciplinary teams, external agencies, and community partners<br></li>\n<li>Navigation of housing, health, and basic needs systems</li>\n<li>Use of client tracking systems</li>\n<li>Knowledge of fair housing and tenant/property laws<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Skills &amp; Competencies</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cultural humility and inclusive practice with the ability to engage individuals from marginalized</li>\n<li>Strong relationship‑building skills with the ability to build trust with individuals who may have experienced trauma or harm in systems</li>\n<li>Ability to set and maintain professional and social‑emotional boundaries</li>\n<li>Collaborative, non‑authoritative approach to problem‑solving that works with individuals rather than directing them</li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple residents and priorities</li>\n<li>Trauma-informed and participant-centered approach</li>\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; degree preferred</li>\n<li>Related education or training in social services, public health, or a related field preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Schedule </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Schedule:</span> Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM, with occasional Fridays as needed.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Work environment:</span> Remote/Hybrid<br><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Why Join DevNW?</span></p>\n<p>When you join DevNW, you’ll become part of a collaborative, mission-driven team that values innovation, community impact, and professional growth.
