          "text": "<p>Heartland REMC is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented <strong>Staking Technician</strong> to support the design, layout, and coordination of electric and fiber distribution facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient project execution while maintaining high-quality service to our members and compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, route, and stake electric distribution and service facilities, including transformers, primary and secondary lines, and services in accordance with member needs and RUS specifications</li><li>Prepare and maintain accurate electronic staking sheets and engineering records</li><li>Obtain GPS coordinates for newly designed facilities</li><li>Secure easements and manage rights-of-way for construction projects</li><li>Coordinate permitting requirements for road right-of-way access</li><li>Assist in planning system expansion, improvements, and long-term infrastructure goals</li><li>Oversee staking of the Construction Work Plan (CWP) in a timely and efficient manner</li><li>Collaborate with consulting engineers and internal departments on projects and system improvements</li><li>Support engineering administrative tasks, including calculations, billing, and recordkeeping</li><li>Assist with contracts and documentation for commercial, industrial (C&amp;I), and subdivision projects</li><li>Address member inquiries, explain project costs, and provide timely responses to service requests</li><li>Maintain strong customer service standards, including returning calls within one business day</li><li>Remain current on National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements</li><li>Assist with territory boundary coordination and regulatory matters</li><li>Participate in emergency response situations as needed</li><li>Attend and participate in cooperative meetings</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned</li></ul>",
