Description
The Department of Diabetes Immunology within the Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute (AR-DMRI) at City of Hope has an opening for a tenure-track associate or full professor. AR-DMRI is a component of the Beckman Research Institute (BRI) at City of Hope . Our research depth in diabetes and cancer makes this institution unique, providing opportunities for scientific and clinical distinction and collaboration across disciplines, for example cross-talk between diabetes immunologists, cancer immunologists, and beta cell biologists. City of Hope is also home to the Wanek Family Project for Type 1 Diabetes , a philanthropic partnership designed to advance novel therapies for type 1 diabetes. The Wanek Family Project and a Department of Diabetes Immunology are directed by Alberto Pugliese , who joined City of Hope in October 2022. The Department has strong focus on human type 1 diabetes and translation.
We are looking to hire a Tenure-Track Professor who has an interest in understanding islet autoimmunity and more broadly the disease pathogenesis at the preclinical and/or clinical levels and with the desire to translate promising insights into biomarkers, treatments and potential cures for type 1 diabetes.
