This 100% Canadian, and family-owned group of companies services the Canadian and North Eastern USA markets through its various subsidiaries: LAPRAIRIE Crane, LAPRAIRIE Haul, LAPRAIRIE Works, LAPRAIRIE Oilfield, CAPSTAN Hauling, ENTREC, LAPRAIRIE Rock, and Canadian Silica Industries.</span></em></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Responsibilities:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Inspecting cranes, trucks, trailers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Diagnosing faults using computerized testing equipment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Repairing damaged equipment parts.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Repairing and servicing machine attachments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Performing major repair work when necessary.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Driving to various job sites.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisor when needed.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Desired skills and Experience:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Journeyman Trade Certification/Red Seal as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Valid Alberta Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) license.  </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">3+ years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic or related role.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Must have a Class 5 driver’s license.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Proven work experience with diesel or heavy equipment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Understanding of computer testing technologies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Ability to lift heavy machinery.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic &amp; electrical systems, and construction equipment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Ability to work after-hours if required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Good communication skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">Applicants must be able to supply their own tools. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">A successful applicant will have their own local accommodations in Fort McMurray and will be willing to work a 2 week on 2 week off shift. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">A member of Local 955 in good standing is preferred. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-size: 15px; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">We encourage all who are qualified and interested to apply in confidence; however, only those in consideration will be contacted.</span></p>",
