This Social Worker-BSW provides outreach services to a population that often experienced barriers to typical mental health services. The incumbent provides supervision to students in formal clinical practicums. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience 1 yr recent exp. in a community MH setting working w/ children, youth & families Education Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, values and traditions Highly developed written and oral communication skills Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge in normal child and adolescent development and psychopathology Ability to document in a concise and timely manner Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups Ability to provide public education regarding children/youth mental health issues Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty.
