Preferred</p><p>candidate will have ability to teach or be trained to teach group exercise</p><p>classes as well.</p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p><p>1. Directs sports referees and site leads in their respective position to</p><p>ensure proper understanding of their department responsibilities,</p><p>accurate training, and impactful engagement of program participants.</p><p>2. Recruits, trains, and recognizes volunteer coaches for all sports.</p><p>Accurate tracking of all volunteer hours for Sports Department.</p><p>3. Reviews and evaluates the program enrollment, and services provided</p><p>by the sports department and communicates findings to their</p><p>supervisor.</p><p>4. Heavy involvement in summer camp programming including daily</p><p>engagement on each camp and the leadership of the part time staff</p><p>helping facilitate.</p><p>5. Camp curriculum development and implementation.</p><p>6. Directs wellness floor assistants, group exercise staff, and volunteers</p><p>of the department in their respective responsibilities.</p><p>7. Recruits, trains, and recognizes wellness and group exercise staff.</p><p>8. Focused approach to small group training and personal training</p><p>implementation plan resulting in higher participation rate in both</p><p>program areas.</p><p>9. Reviews and evaluates the program enrollment, and services provided</p><p>by the wellness department and communicates findings to their</p><p>supervisor.</p><p>10. Identifies new and innovative programs in the area of health and</p><p>wellness, while targeting youth, adults, seniors, and families with an</p><p>emphasis on increased membership retention.</p><p>The Y: We&rsquo;re for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.</p><p>11. Meets weekly with Sr. Membership Director to review new joins and</p><p>create connection plan centered around new member goals resulting in</p><p>engaged members and strengthened retention.</p><p>12. Orients new wellness staff and provides guidance and clarification of</p><p>work duties and assignments.</p><p>13. Supervises the wellness center by being attentive to all participants to</p><p>protect their safety. Instructs members and participants on safe</p><p>exercise techniques including but not limited to warm-up and</p><p>stretching progression, aerobic conditioning, strength training, proper</p><p>use of center equipment and workout routine.</p><p>14. Maintains all equipment on fitness floor and group exercise space</p><p>ensuring safety and proper upkeep.</p><p>15. Instructs group exercise classes based on personal experience and</p><p>need of the YMCA.</p><p>16. Facilitates annual and quarterly wellness programming including</p><p>member challenges, YMCA Turkey Trot, etc.</p><p>17. Ensure cleanliness of fitness center through daily cleaning checklist</p><p>and equipment maintenance plan.</p><p>18. Provides leadership and support to annual Strong Communities</p><p>Campaign and volunteer committees as needed.</p><p>19. Develops and manages annual budget ensuring financial success of</p><p>department and thus the YMCA.</p><p>20. Serves on Association Sports and Wellness teams</p><p>21. Additional responsibilities as assigned.</p><p id=\"isPasted\">QUALIFICATIONS:</p><p>1. Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Physical Education, Health and Wellness or related</p><p>field with preferred two years&rsquo; experience working in the field or relatable</p><p>professional experience.</p><p>2. Required certifications: CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACE,</p><p>NETA, AFAA, NASM, YMCA of the USA) in personal training.</p><p>3. Nationally recognized Group Exercise certification preferred</p><p>4. YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 90 days of hire.</p><p>5. YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program training preferred.</p><p>6. At least one year of experience in personal training and/or wellness</p><p>consultation.</p><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p><p>1.
