Description
Responsible for selling complex technological products or services to businesses. The Sales Engineer will serve customers by identifying their needs; engineering adaptations of products, equipment and service.
Territory for this position includes central South Carolina to the coast. Candidates must reside in the area to be considered.
• Actively drives sales and business development
• Formulates strategies to grow sales revenue, market share and customer satisfaction in assigned
territory
• Serves as a liaison and advocate between the customer and the organization
• Prepares and delivers technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and
prospective customers
• Confers with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system
requirements
• Collaborates with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support
• Secures and renews orders and arrange delivery
• Plans and modifies products to meet customer needs
• Helps clients solve problems with installed equipment
• Recommends improved materials or machinery to customers, shows how changes will lower costs
or increase production
• Helps in researching and developing new products
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
• Strong understanding of how to create highly satisfied customer
• Firm commitment to excellence and high standards
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to
communicate information clearly and effectively
• Interpersonal savvy; able to collaborate and work closely with other departments and leadership
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, process analysis, and improving business practice skills
• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
• Strong presentation skills
• Outstanding time-management skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while
meeting deadlines
• Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to prioritize duties and responsibilities
• Self-motivated, resourceful and adaptable; able to work independently within team focused
environment
• Effective sales competency
• Technical aptitude with air compression and rotating equipment preferred
• Knowledge of technical products, rotating equipment, air compression products and their
applications
• Knowledge of industrial distribution models or multi step distribution preferred
• Advocates a safety-first attitude in all aspects of position
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 software; Salesforce experience preferred
