Description
Markon is building a talent pool of Project Managers with engineering backgrounds (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) to support future construction and infrastructure projects. This pipeline opportunity is intended to identify qualified candidates to lead and manage multiple projects while providing on-site oversight and ensuring successful execution. Selected candidates will be considered for future openings aligned to infrastructure, facilities, and construction management priorities.
Responsibilities
Manage project design and construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day-to-day oversight.
Oversee and evaluate construction contractor performance.
Coordinate and integrate project activities with field personnel and multidisciplinary teams.
Review, validate, and manage project change requests.
Prepare and deliver weekly project status reports.
Develop and distribute project communications to customers, management, and stakeholders.
Support the client’s Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution, and administration.
Assist with pre-bid and pre-construction site visits.
Provide invoice validation and supporting documentation for payment approval.
Develop and manage project schedules and budgets using MS Project or similar tools.
Provide technical guidance on construction, contracting, and design-related issues.
Conduct design reviews and recommend construction documents for approval.
Ensure proper documentation and data entry within the MAXIMO project management system.
Coordinate integration of all building systems, including IT, telecommunications, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
Maintain project documentation, including logs for scope, schedule, and cost changes.
Prepare Contractor Performance Reports (CPR) at project closeout.
Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, meeting cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI FSP required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) or a related discipline.
A high school, vocational, or trade school diploma plus 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted.
5+ years of project management experience (10–12 years preferred).
3+ years of experience using MS Project or similar project management tools.
Experience managing construction or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, and contractor oversight.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work onsite in Hartford, NC.
Desired:
Engineering background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil disciplines.
Experience supporting government or federal construction projects.
Experience with MAXIMO or similar project management systems.
Familiarity with facility systems integration (IT, HVAC, electrical, security).
Salary Range USD $110,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
