Description

We’re seeking an experienced Control Systems Integrator who is ready to deliver high-quality process control solutions for critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. If you bring strong expertise in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming along with a practical, hands-on approach and the flexibility to step into design work when needed, you’ll find a strong fit on our team. This role plays a direct part in helping communities operate reliable, efficient water systems. Job Summary: The Control Systems Integrator will lead the programming, integration, and commissioning of process control systems and SCADA platforms for municipal water/wastewater facilities while also contributing to design efforts as project demands require. You will translate engineering designs into fully functional, operator-friendly automation systems and work closely with engineers and clients throughout the project lifecycle in a results-focused, team-based setting. Responsibilities: Program, integrate, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and collection/distribution infrastructure within project scope, schedule, and budget. Using company standards, develop robust PLC logic, intuitive HMI graphics, and SCADA applications that reflect client-specific process needs and deliver clear, real-time operational visibility. Collaborate with Electrical and Controls Engineers to produce or refine project deliverables, including P&IDs, instrumentation plans, control panel shop drawings, network diagrams, process control strategies, and detailed specifications. Review equipment submittals and data sheets to ensure technical compliance and suitability. Lead on-site activities such as Industrial Control Panel factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), full system commissioning, startup, and operator training. Evaluate existing client facilities, document current control infrastructure, and identify improvement opportunities. Perform control system design duties as needed to support team workload and project delivery. Prepare clear, maintainable integration project documentation that meets company and client standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related Engineering or related Controls and Automation Technology field. 4+ years of progressive experience in PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming and controls integration, preferably in water/wastewater or similar industrial/municipal environments. With extensive portfolio showing project ownership from conception to final commissioning. International Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level 1 or higher, or equivalent professional certification. Demonstrated expertise with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC platforms and Inductive Automation’s Ignition SCADA platform (strongly preferred). Solid experience with industrial networking and security, communications protocols, and UL 508A/698A guidelines for industrial control panels. Proven ability to manage personal workload consisting of multiple simultaneous projects with strong organizational and prioritization skills. Effective decision-making and collaboration skills to resolve complex technical issues with engineers, clients, and contractors. Willingness to travel to project sites for commissioning and startup activities. Benefits: Employee medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents Short-term and long-term disability insurance Company paid life insurance with option to buy up Salary Advantage Program Employee assistance program (EAP) Flexible spending account (FSA) Health savings account (HSA) 401k match program & access to asset management services Year-end bonus Costco membership Paid time off (PTO) and PTO sell back program Paid Holidays Parental Leave Tuition Reimbursement Paid day of community service Our mission is simple – everything we do improves lives. We take a holistic approach to work. That might sound a little bit abstract, but we mean it in the truest sense: you can’t be happy at work if you aren’t happy at home. That’s why we’ve created a workplace that puts a premium on helping people thrive in their careers and in their personal lives. Because when you retire from here, and we hope you stay with us until you do, we want you to look back and feel proud. As federal government consultants, we must comply with government regulations, including affirmative action and required government reporting.
