We’re less concerned about titles and more concerned about how each person can be supported to make the greatest impact.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>This entry-level position will assist in designing civil engineering projects focusing on rural/regional systems, and municipal water systems. This position has a focus in potable water projects. Project work will involve: Pipeline distribution systems, elevated/ground storage, municipal or regional water supply systems, and hydraulic modeling.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Veterans encouraged to apply.       </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions & Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develops plans and specifications for water projects.</li>\n <li>Will focus on pipeline distribution systems, elevated/ground storage tanks, municipal or regional water supply systems, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling.</li>\n <li>Performs environmental studies and writes technical reports.</li>\n <li>May assist with proposal preparations and fee development.</li>\n <li>Utilizes AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, in-house water distribution design model to design and analyze projects.</li>\n <li>Interacts with vendors in selection of equipment (pumps, pipe materials, valves, treatment equipment, storage tanks, SCADA systems, and metering equipment).</li>\n <li>Performs evaluations of sites, alternate solutions, costs and other considerations for client needs.</li>\n <li>Manages engineering work and interfaces with other disciplines as needed.</li>\n <li>Typically handles multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously.</li>\n <li>Visits clients and job sites as needed to support project(s) and business development needs, including evening meetings.</li>\n <li>Serves as consultant on projects during construction phase.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Good communication skills (verbal and written)</li>\n <li>Excellent listening and reading skills, including proofreading</li>\n <li>Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as changes occur in project needs</li>\n <li>Effective problem solving and decision making skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of pipeline distribution systems, elevated/ground storage tanks, municipal and regional water supply systems, irrigation and water diversion systems, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations and/or water collection systems</li>\n <li>Credibility</li>\n <li>Accountability in work performance</li>\n <li>Analytical and critical thinking skills</li>\n <li>Ability to achieve business results</li>\n <li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain amount of detail</li>\n <li>Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook</li>\n <li>Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, Water/Sewer GEMS, InfoWater, ArcGIS and water modeling software</li>\n <li>Ability to embrace new technology and processes including learning other software programs as needed (Adobe, Bluebeam, Deltek Vision accounting and project planning software, Client Relationship Management software, etc.)</li>\n <li>Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership</li>\n <li>Good time management skills with ability to handle complex deadline driven workload</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently and within a team successfully</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong><strong>  </strong>Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field required.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<p>0-3 years engineering experience in potable water systems. Knowledge/experience of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and water modeling software strongly preferred.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>                                    </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Travel Expectations:</strong></p>\n<p>Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state on occasion, which usually would consist of visiting other office locations, project sites, attending seminars or business meetings.  Travel is 10% - 20% of the time depending on projects.  Certain positions will require more travel.  Travel expectations will be communicated through the employee-owner’s manager, and for newly open positions, travel expectations will be reflected in the job posting announcement.
