POSITION OVERVIEW
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe work environment across all field operations. This role ensures compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific requirements. The Safety Coordinator will conduct site inspections, provide safety guidance to field teams, assist with incident investigations, and help drive a culture of safety throughout the organization.
This is a field-based position , requiring daily travel to active construction and service sites.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Site Safety Compliance
Conduct routine jobsite safety inspections to identify hazards, ensure regulatory compliance, and verify implementation of corrective actions.
Monitor field activities for adherence to company safety policies, site-specific plans, and OSHA standards.
Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and daily safety meetings.
Training & Safety Support
Provide onsite safety coaching and mentorship to supervisors and crews.
Assist with conducting toolbox talks, onboarding safety orientations, and refreshers as needed.
Ensure all employees, subcontractors, and visitors comply with PPE requirements and site rules.
Incident Response & Reporting
Assist with incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and documentation.
Support the reporting process for near misses, injuries, and property damage events.
Help track corrective actions to closure.
Program Administration .
Assist in implementing company safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and subcontractors to resolve safety concerns.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety program performance – Training completion and near miss reporting
Audit and inspection completion – required changes made
Accident and incident records – including lessons learned documented
ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT
This position reports directly to the Safety team.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
OSHA 30 Construction Certification (required)
Current First Aid/CPR certification (required)
Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience (required)
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites daily.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and hazard recognition.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk/stand for extended periods.
Prior experience in a safety-focused role (Safety Tech, Safety Assistant, Safety Coordinator, etc.)
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or general construction operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors.
Proficiency in basic computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, mobile safety apps).

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
