          "text": "<p>The Waste Technician is responsible for managing the waste needs of the laboratory, ensuring the safe and proper disposal of all waste materials and client samples in compliance with OHSA and other regulatory standards.</p><p>The Waste Technician is responsible for following all health and safety procedures and promoting a safe working environment throughout department and the laboratory.</p><p>Oversees the waste management of the laboratory, ensuring safe and proper disposal of all waste<br>\nmaterials including, but not limited to lab waste and client samples.&#xa0;</p><p><br>\nFollows procedures and protocols for waste management and chemical handling; including but not<br>\nlimited to, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste&#xa0;</p><p><br>\nCollects waste materials from each laboratory and prepares waste for proper disposal on a routine<br>\nbasis, while adjusting waste pick-ups based on the needs of the laboratory&#xa0;</p><p>Maintains record of all hazardous materials on-site; verifies and classifies hazardous waste for disposal&#xa0;</p><p><br>\nManages upkeep and cleanliness of waste department that meets and exceeds regulatory inspection<br>\nstandards to ensure a safe, clean work environment&#xa0;</p><p><br>\nPerforms regular safety walkthroughs daily to assess waste needs of the lab&#xa0;</p><p><br>\nProactively communicates with local management to address any waste concerns/issues as needed&#xa0;<br>\nCoordinates waste pick-up with the appropriate vendors based on hazardous category&#xa0;</p><p><br>\nObtains certifications required for waste management, ensuring all certifications remain current and are<br>\nrenewed on-time&#xa0;<br>\nAssists the Sample Management department with kit prep, shipping/receiving, and log-in as needed&#xa0;</p><p><br>\nAdheres to lab and sample management SOPs to ensure that proper sampling handling procedures are<br>\nfollowed&#xa0;<br>\nMay assist with facilities maintenance as needed&#xa0;<br>\nPerforms other duties as assigned&#xa0;</p>",
